Women for Afghan Women (WAW) is a grassroots civil society organization dedicated to protecting and promoting the rights of disenfranchised Afghan women and girls in Afghanistan and New York. In particular, WAW works to help Afghan women and girls exercise their rights to pursue their individual potential to self-determination, and to representation in all areas of life—political, social, cultural, and economic. WAW relentlessly advocates for women’s rights and challenges the norms that underpin gender-based violence to influence attitudes and bring about change.
He/she will be responsible for the development, implementation and training of an M&E system to support analysis and analysis of data and information.
M&E officer will base in Kabul, with frequent visit to program site including provincial visits (Faryab and Kunduz).
The M&E Officer will be responsible for field level monitoring of WAW – UNTF Project and program activities.
To ensure conduct real time monitoring visits, validate outputs.
The M&E officer responsible for writing monitoring reports, update database and capacity building of staff.
Establish a functioning and effective monitoring and Evaluation Unit with the M&E frameworks of project(s), programs of the organization.
Build on in understanding of the WAW mission, goals and capacities in order to provide sound technical advice on the current M&E system.
Prepare reports on the M&E Unit's progress and contribute, along with other departments, to the creation of a mechanism that will allow monitoring recommendations to be implemented by the appropriate units/departments and Management.
Ensure maintenance of essential records of M&E section
Able to work overtime on weekends or holidays required by the supervisor or program
Any other task assigned by the supervisor’s/project manager.
Expected Rules:
An M&E Manual with associated tools
Quarterly reports
Valid and objective impact assessments of the projects/programs
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and other relevant discipline
3-4 years relevant work experience
Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation and program-related writing, research and analytical skills
Good communications, interpersonal and reporting skills with efficient in using relevant computer programs
Proficient in Dari/ Pashto and English both speaking and writing.
