Mission/ Core purpose of the Job :
The mission is to manage the LAN team and ensure a stable network infrastructure across all MTNA Corporate
offices and MTNA data center
Manage the systems infrastructure of MTNA; host and provide support to applications for various operating
systems, and manage company firewalls in order to secure the infrastructure from vulnerabilities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop stable infrastructure platform.
Ensure high availability of infrastructure by establishing redundancy/back-ups.
Develop and Implement the following IS data center processes:
o Business continuity
- Disaster recovery plans
- Systems management
- Capacity management
o Ensure a stable operating environment.
- Physical (power and air conditioning)
- Operating systems and databases
Prepare information systems technical business cases by forecasting the future requirements in terms of
security, data centers, etc.
Develop strategies to ensure technical direction of Data Center to gain and support competitive advantage for
MTN through the Data Center infrastructure.
Monitor and adopt best practices and new technologies; ensure alignment with Information Systems data
Develop and maintain information systems technical support infrastructure for the business.
Provide the internet capacity to 3G network all over Afghanistan
Ensure continuous, timely, and secure Remote Connectivity (VPN) with the MTNA network to the third parties /
Plan, execute and implement capacity through vendors for power equipment such as batteries, rectifiers, UPSs,
Host the applications for the Call Center by managing services such as VIPE, PIP, etc
Manage the physical security of data centers via process and procedures to meet required security standards
Set goals and objectives for direct reports
Coach and mentor direct reports to ensure staff motivation is high
Direct and monitor work of subordinates
Ensure the team is led; motivated and rewarded to achieve key performance areas
Identify staff training and development needs and implements necessary actions
Manage the performance and deliverables of direct and indirect reports to ensure that the objectives of the
department are achieved
