Job Summary

The Livelihoods Manager’s responsibilities include:

• She/he will lead the team of ACTED staff in implementation of house hold livelihood security on the advice of the National Livelihoods Co-ordinator
• She/he will guide and support conduct of training and development of manuals
• She/he will support the reporting department in the development of proposals
• She/he will also visit all the project area in Afghanistan to initiate changes to shift the need based approach to right based approach using livelihood security policy paper as base
• She/ he will assist the program staff in preparing the training programs for effective implementation of activities
• She /he co-ordinate the activities of livelihoods of various NGOs working in Afghanistan and develop a common forum for livelihood Network
• She/he will support the process of sharing the long term livelihood security strategy of Afghanistan with donors and Afghanistan government
• She/he will initiate, guide, set up and run of livelihood resources and training centre in Kabul and in other bases
• She/he will support and guide the Administration, HR, Logistics and Finance staff in dovetailing the livelihood implementation
• She/he will arrange to bring out Livelihood News letter
• She / he will set up a web site for livelihood information sharing
• She / he will develop the livelihood resource center and initiate and operate knowledge management process
• She/ he will be responsible for arranging all the public relation and visibility aspects of livelihood implementation
• Any other matter of importance as assigned by National Livelihood Co-ordinator. Deputy Country Director or the country director

Job Requirements

• Afghan National
• Graduate from recognised university and Post graduate or Masters is preferred
• At least 2/3 years working experience in a development projects in Afghanistan
• Prior working experience in livelihood development activities is an asset
• Fluency in English speaking is required.
• Decent computer skill (MS word, excel and Power point)
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Strong leadership abilities
• Proficient in written and oral communication skills in Dari.
• Willing to travel in various parts of Afghanistan
