About Qamar Foundation :

Founded:  

Responsible for considering, implementing managing, and leading all of the fundraising activities of Qamar Foundation. He will establish and nurture the organization’s relationships with the donor community to identify and raise funds from different sources from within and outside Afghanistan to meet Qamar's funding goals.

Job Summary:

  • Conceive innovative fundraising strategies and programs that are in line with the needs and environment of Afghanistan.
  • Designing and implementing fundraising policies, strategies, and procedures.
  • Develop innovative fundraising ideas that would involve the various sectors, inside the country, in funding programs for the public good in Afghanistan.
  • Identify funding opportunities and develop proposals if required.
  • Conduct research and follow-up to determine deliverables/milestones, develop M&E plans, estimate budgets, and ensure effective follow-up with donor organizations.
  • Lead the design and implementation of Qamar's fundraising campaigns.
  • Participate in the evaluation of the fundraising activity and provide recommendations.
  •  Participate in the senior management activities, liaising with other managers and contributing to the development and implementation of organizational policies, practices, and procedures, ensuring staff coordination and workflow.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of current market research theories and practices, fundraising, and marketing techniques.
  • Ability to research, analyze, evaluate and synthesize information.
  • General ability to draft clearly and concisely ideas and concepts in written and oral form.
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team and to work independently.
  • Commitment and integrity.
  • University degree in Marketing, Communications/Public Relations, Economics, Promotion, and Commercial management; or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of progressively responsible or 2 years of practical professional work experience in related areas.
  • Knowledge/experience in developing fundraising strategies, social marketing, and business development is an asset.
  • Must have experience in raising funds for any public or private organization.
  • Proven ability to build networks and establish relationships in order to work collaboratively with groups/individuals and donor organizations.
  • A strong commitment to develop, promote and practice Qamar’s vision, mission, values, and strategy with a particular focus on raising funds for charity works in particular.
  • Fluency in English, and proficiency in Dari and Pashto.
  • Ability to deal with difficult, often challenging work situations.
  • Behavioral role model for peers and fellow team members.
  • Competent to work with significant levels of autonomy and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Personal integrity, intuition, and self-motivation.
  • Knowledge of personal strengths and weaknesses, active listener.
