Job Summary:

Mechanic is responsible for preventive maintenance, trouble shooting, Breakdown of generators (Mainly diesel engines), he should be able to do above mention tasks in technical and skilled manner and takes care of standard safety system.

Duties & Responsibilities:


SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


1-   Oversee and perform preventive and corrective maintenance of all generators as per daily work schedule which is planned by his supervisor.

2-   Need to involve diagnose, trouble shooting and repairing diesel generators.

3-   Should work with different size and types of DG’s started from 5 KVA up to 1 MVA.

4-   Should be able to do maintenance of sites properly and fill out the form and report to his supervisor.

5-   Should be able to do preventive maintenance for all types of generators (Changing oil-change fuel filter- oil filter, Air-filter and check properly all of sensors and fuel quantity).

6-    Be able to travel on the job site.

7-   Work on shifts according to a shift schedule if required.

8-   Perform other related duties as required like site down repairing DG in the site (changing Parts).


SUPERVISORY TASKS (IF REQUIRED):

1-   Must have good work habits and able to work with other Mechanics, technicians and staffs as part of team.



TECHNICAL TASKS

1-     A sound understanding of Generator mechanical systems, Hydraulic systems.

2-      Sound knowledge about observing of Engine systems (how it works?)

3-     Able to work at Power Containers with generators systems and fuel pipes.

4-   Able to follow safety standards in working with Generators system and tools.

5-     Be familiar with changing parts, repairing engine on the site if necessary.




PLANNING AND REPORTING

1-     Be able to work and complete his assignment as per his supervisor instruction.

2-     Be able to estimate of necessary materials and tools as per required plan and following the plan on time and reporting.

3-     After completing the job should report to supervisor or responsible person of department and specified the work done by him and if any issue.

4-     Be able to complete his assigned task in instructed period.



TRAINING AND CAPACITY BUILDING

1-     Try to understand and improve him in technical knowledge on Engines, generator alternator, fuel systems and mechanical troubleshooting.

2-     Try to improve him for team working and leading good manner with other staff and better communication.




ORGANIZATION RELATIONS

1-   Should follow company policies and rolls.

2-   Should have good relation and manners with other staff.

   


EXTERNAL AGENCIES RELATIONS

1-   To respect to the company sub-contractors, vendors and have good relation with venders.


PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT

1-   Should have interest in technical training programs in order to improve his technical knowledge

   


FINANCIAL TASKS

1-   Should be able to do proper job with less possible expenses.


MISCELLANEOUS TASKS

1-   Should have information regarding other technical parts like generators mechanisms, DC and AC systems.

2-   To be familiar with official equipment and devices.

Job Location:

Afghanistan, Kabul

Qualifications:

Hands on experience for at least 05 years with engines/diesel generators and should be able to read and write in local languages, familiarity with English language is an extra asset to have.
