Kakar History Foundation (the Foundation) aims to increase understanding of the history of Afghanistan through academic research, publication and dissemination of scholarly works, and other initiatives. The Foundation is dedicated to assisting scholars in conducting research in history, translating historical documents, and publishing their writings through organizing seminars, workshops, conferences and symposia. The Foundation strives to raise awareness of Afghan history and culture in partnership with other interested individuals and organizations. Furthermore, it will collect and archive historical documents and writings from well-known Afghan scholars. Under supervision of the Executive Coordinator, the Media Assistant will be responsible to provide administrative support to media operations of Kakar History Foundation.
Requires travel to provinces:
Duties & Responsibilities:
1- Assist in drafting, editing and proof-reading of all materials that will be posted on the website of the Kakar History Foundation (including, but not limited to concept notes, brochures, lists of participants, press-releases, biographies, etc.).
2- Assist in the creation, editing and retouching of photographs and videos.
3- Map major media outlets and compile names of journalists which could be relevant for the (KHF) and could be invited to cover the event, or play a moderating role in it.
4- Assist with social media campaigns around the KHF (e.g. Twitter and Facebook posts).
5- Manage to the library of Kakar history foundation.
6- Perform other relevant duties as required by the Kakar History Foundation Secretariat.
7- Any other tasks assigned by supervisor.
Job Location:Afghanistan, Kabul
1- Bachelor degree in Administration, Management or a related field.
2- Minimum of 1-year relevant experience.
3- Excellent command of English, and local languages (Pashto, Dari).
4- Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office Software, internet and emailing.
5- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks.
6-Ability to work both independently and as a team member in a deadline-driven environment.
