Job Summary:

The Media Project Manager will be responsible for the over all media project related activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities

1-Ensure overall management, administration and supervision of the project in the Logar and Wardak provinces.
2-Prepares annual project work-plan/action-plan for the project with the departments;
3-Attempt for extension and sustainability of the projects.
4-Represent the Organization and the project in meetings with National, International clients and other stakeholders in the province; liaise, communicate and coordinate with donor, companies and other relevant institutions in the provinces.
5-Ensure that active supportive supervision and monitoring is taking place regularly and as planned in the provinces and those corrective actions are taking place to address weaknesses.
6-Ensure that the Organization’s and project human resource and other policies, guidelines and procedures are implemented appropriately in the relevant projects.
7-Ensure the project implementation in the province is in compliance with organization and donor requirements.
8-Actively participate as member of “management team” in drafting new organizational goals, policies, strategies and annual plan and necessary amendments.
9-Ensures proper field staff management and coordination, identification of project, staff and administration needs’
10-Establishes and maintains effective channels of communications and works closely with clients and internal project team participants to schedule necessary resources in provincial level;
11-Schedules and leads Wardak and Logar Media project team progress and problem resolutions meetings, identifies, defines and recommends risks and risk mitigation strategies.
12-Ensures that all accounting and financial systems are in place, preparation of budgets and reports;
13-Assess work performance through timely supervision, monitoring and evaluation and oversees and supports a timely, efficient implementation of all local activities;
14-Liaise with local authorities, communities and other project stakeholders in the fields;
15-Implement continuous follow up and exchange of information with main office and provincial radio stations.
16-Ensure regular project reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual) in a timely manner and in compliance with donor format.
17-Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirement:


•University degree
• Media background and Media knowledge of Afghanistan
•Had Media finance and management related trainings
•At least 4 years experience in media managing projects
•Demonstrated ability to work in conflict areas
•Demonstrated ability to work effectively with many different organization such as military, media, national and International NGOs
•Proven ability to work with community with impartiality attitude
•Strong organizational and inter personal skills
•Fluent in English languages
•Ability to handle multiple tasks, proven self-initiative and problem solving abilities
•Ability to travel and stay within Logar and Wardak Province
•Ability to work as part of a team
•Computer (word, excel, internet, power-Ms Project)
