Job Summary:

Objectives of the program: 

Field FHH Midwifery officer is responsible for successful implementation of FHH guidelines of MOPH in the FHH projects. She is also responsible for the capacity building of midwives, in the FHHs. She will coordinate FHH Midwifes related affairs of the project with Project officer. Through supportive supervision by the project technical supervisors; 3) In order to address the gaps in supportive supervisions for competency based skills, one mentor will support the CMW, Collect and integrate FHHs monthly report.

Purpose of the Post:

To contribute to the improvement and ensuring MCH activities as one of the most important components of the MoPH for the effective expansion and follow up of programs based of priority needs in line with MoPH strategy and policies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The incumbent will perform the following duties:

1.   Regular supervision of midwives of Family health house, HP, FHA Group to ensure proper FHH service delivery.

2.   Ensuring the staff level of knowledge and identify their needs for training.

3.   To provide the FHH Staffs with high quality Technical support and on the job training in field of women and reproductive health.

4.   Conducting training in field of Reproductive health and women health for Family health house staff.

5.   Supportive supervision of Reproductive services delivery in health facilities.

6.   Helping the FHH staff in preparing safe environment for carrying out normal and assisted deliveries through Family Health house.

7.   Helping the provincial project officer in setting the target indicators for women and reproductive health up to end of project.

8.   Time to time follow up of the progress towards indicators and find the gap against progress.  

9.   Ensure provision of essential RMNCH services, ANC, PNC, FP, newborn, post abortion care and TB, Malaria and HIV/AIDS services through FHH.

10.   Ensure transfer of updated policies and guidelines related to RH to all facilities staff.

11.   Ensure enough equipment required for quality Reproductive health service provision in 17 FHHs.

12.   Coordination with Nearest HFs and established referral system for strengthen Family health house. 

13.   Assist the provincial project officer in preparation of quarterly report by providing needed data and information.

14.   Participate in meeting/workshops in order to upgrade technical and supervision knowledge.

15.   Through project supervisors, which visits each FHHs based on practical action plan 

16.   Through supportive supervision by the project technical supervisors; 3) In order to address the gaps in supportive supervisions for competency based skills, one mentor will support the CMW

17.   Collect and integrate FHHs monthly reports,

18.   Perform other duties as assigned by line management.

Job Requirement:


1) The Candidate must have Diploma in Midwifery from a recognized institution and certified by MoPH

      2) Minimum 3 years’ experience in relevant area and experience of working with national and international organization


Essential: Diploma in Midwifery.

Desirable: Preferred to Midwifery Bachelor degree.


•   3 years of related experience. 

•   In-depth understanding of social mobilization (working experience in community mobilization, Supervision and Coaching)


Functional Skills and Knowledge:

1) Have the skill to monitoring the physical, psychological and social well-being of the mother throughout the childbearing cycle;

2) providing the mother with individualized education, counselling and prenatal care; continuous hands-on assistance during labour and delivery; and postpartum support

3) Must have good command of computer skills

4) Excellent communication and report writing skills

5) Fluency in Pashto and Dari Language is must.

6) Willingness to work long hours and weekends and complete the deliverables on time with frequent travel to districts.

Languages: Very good knowledge of local language.

IT Skills:

- knowledge of computer.

Criteria/ Procedure:

   Screening of the candidates;

   Long List - The candidates shall be longlisted base on the minimum qualifications and relevant experience to the Vacancy Notice (VN).

   Short List - Further shortlist shall be done base on years of relevant experience, higher education and required skills.

   Assessment method:

   WHO may conduct written/presentation and interview or combination of the mentioned mediums to select the most qualified candidate.
