Summary of the Position
Providing technical assistance on the preparation of statistics related to internal and international migration, in accordance with the direction of the relevant director
Duties and Responsibilities
Preparing work plan in accordance with the general plan of the Central Statistics Organization (CSO) in order to achieve the goals set by the CSO
Providing technical assistance on the collection of information regarding migrations
Ensuring the quality of the collected data
Studying, checking and controlling the migration data and ensuring it is worth of providing to national and international authorities and it does not possess any kind of errors and flaws
Creating the required tables regarding the major migration indicators on international level for the usage of relevant department
Developing questionnaires for migration surveys, analyzing migration data and establishing and developing the indicators related to migration, immigration, emigration, returnees, displacements and other indicators related to migration
Analysis of migration data taking into account the relevant SDG indicators.
Writing reports on migration statistics
Implementing the objectives of the programs in the directorate of population statistics in order to achieve the desired goals.
Training and transferring knowledge, skills and experience to the staff of relevant department
Performing other duties and tasks assigned by the top management in accordance with the laws and regulations of the organization.

Qualifications and Experience: Migration Statistics Specialist would have the following qualification and work experience;
A Master degree with five years of relevant experience in Demography, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics or Statistics.
A bachelor degree with seven years of relevant experience in Demography, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics or Statistics and Computer (Combined Degree).
Proficient user of MS Office and one of the statistical analysis software SPSS, STATA and R
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work in a team.

Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and working knowledge of national languages i.e. Dari and Pashto
Ability to work with and be a partner of a team of diverse backgrounds
Ability to work efficiently and to meet deadlines
Ability to function effectively in a team environment inspiring trust and cooperation of other team member
Strong communication, negotiating skills and good interpersonal relations.
