Job Summary:

Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a private non-governmental, humanitarian organization specialized in assisting and advocating for the rights of refugees and internally displaced persons.

The position announced is related to shelter programme run east area, Nangarhar province, with possible travels to Kabul.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Planning the work and field visits according to the key stages of projects implementation
• Finalising the methods for data collection and analysis
• Identify stakeholders
• Participate at field visits
• Gathering the relevant documentation
• Report to Monitoring Supervisor

The Monitoring Assistant is responsible to verify and evaluate:
• Beneficiary Selection Committee: gender composition (in particular active participation of woman representative)
• Shelter Construction Cluster groups: established and active
• Selected beneficiaries: application of the fixed selection criteria
• Qualifications and skills of hired masons
• Trainings for masons and beneficiaries: quality and outcomes
• Hygiene promotion: methods and outcomes
• Respect of work plan, reasons for eventual deviations
• Progress against results indicators
• Programme assistance is well documented; all data are accurately collected and reported
• Shelter material distributed must respect the technical specifications as per contract, right quantity and use, timely distributed.
• Verify shelter completion and occupancy

Job Requirement:

• High School diploma
• Diploma in civil engineering is an asset
• Experience in social science and community development
• Expertise in construction engineering
• Knowledge in roll out of shelter and/or community mobilization programs
• Understanding of returnee/IDP advocacy
• Documentation and reporting skills
• Previous work experience with a satisfactory performance in the same or similar functional area, preferably with UN or INGOs
• Fluency in written and spoken Pasthu and English
• Working knowledge in Microsoft Office
