Act as a National Programme Officer in UNESCO Office in Kabul and be responsible for field coordination for UNESCO project of the Skills Development Training Programme, under Enhancement of Literacy in Afghanistan (ELA) funded by the Government of Japan.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Under the direct authority and supervision of the Director of UNESCO Office and Programme Manager of ELA in Kabul, the incumbent will carry out the following duties:
â€¢To conduct field visits to training sites and collect first hand information about quality of programming
â€¢To provide logistical/technical support in the dvelopment of conceptual framework for integration of literacy and skills development
â€¢To keep regular communication with partner organizations and ELA staff to ensure effective implementation of skills development programme
â€¢To provide logistical/technical support in implementation of skills development and income generation programme
â€¢To liaise with ELA field colleagues and ELA central staff to ensure a smooth transition from literacy classes to skills development training
â€¢To draft, revise, and edit quarterly ELA newsletter
â€¢To promote information sharing and collaboration between ELA field colleagues, ELA central staff, partners, and the literacy department.
â€¢To provide logistical/technical support in the development of advocacy materials such as pamphlets, radio announcements, video clips, etc
ï‚§University and advanced university degree (equivalent of a Masters degree) in the relevant field or equivalent professional qualification/certification
ï‚§4-7 years of progressively relevant professional experience in literacy programming
ï‚§Willing to travel to target provinces, at least four times a year.
ï‚§Excellent IT skills and communication skills required.
ï‚§Excellent knowledge of English and fluency in Dari and Pashto.
