Duties & Responsibilities

Under minimal direction, manages installation, and support of network communications, including LAN/WAN/Firewall systems. Responsible for evaluating current systems. Works on highly complex problems where analysis of situation requires in-depth evaluation of various factors. Develops or leads large scale systems projects through vendor comparison and cost studies. Provides work leadership and training to lower level network engineers. Requires expert knowledge of LAN/WAN/Firewall systems, networks, and applications. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and at least five years of experience.

Specific Skillets Needed
• Cisco Certifications Minimum CCNA and CCNP preferred
• Cisco Switching 3+ Years
• Cisco Routers 3+ Years
• Cisco Dynamic Routing 3+ Years
• Cisco General Hardware 3+ Years
• Network Design, implementing and operating multi-site preferred
•Familiarity with structured cabling best practices and troubleshooting techniques
• Understands Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) and Virtual Routing and Forwarding Instances (VRF’s)
• Utilizes network management tools to monitor, evaluate, and report health statistics of the Wide and Local Area (WAN/LAN) Networks.
• Maintains extensive knowledge of IP communications, including packet analysis
• Utilizes effective decision making processes to prioritize daily tasks and assignments
• Performs network capacity planning and performance analysis to properly size network connections
•Fluent in English, Dari and or Pashtu
