Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for implementing, executing, and evolving all communications and network management processes during current and future network installations. Its scope of work will surround all the departments of MoEW and zones.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for administering and monitoring an existing network to ensure the uninterrupted and stable operation of client’s.
• Responsible for implementing and administering the peripheral boundary of security of the network.
• Daily running and reporting of performance statistics.
• Daily monitoring of error log reports.
• Daily monitoring of network connectivity logs and responding to alerts.

• Responsible to design, and implement a fully stable and redundant backup system for MoEW.
• Responsible for the last line support and troubleshooting support for complex problems on the network.
• Responsible for resolving infrastructure and network issues within agreed timeframes and identifying and recommending new/additional products, services and tools that increase effectiveness.
• Responsible for assessment of requirements on purchase of hardware/software for all the offices, and installation of updated software.
• Responsible to remove any obstacle that can be a security threat for the ministry’s network.
• Responsible for supporting zonal offices and establishing communication with zonal offices.

• Responsible to, closely work with ICT manager to get supported to accomplish the ICT Goals.
• Responsible to Represent MoEW in a positive, professional and enthusiastic manner when working with the departments of MoEW.
• Install and configure a File Server (Backup Server).
• Maintain and secure the core-Loan Tracking system backup software in to suitable Media.
• Install and/or oversee the installation of local and wide area networks.
• Maintain optimal performance of communications networks and computer related equipments.
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of IT equipment.
• Identify and test new software and hardware for improving and upgrading system performance.
• Ensure virus-free information and IT File Server in the office.
• Regular computer maintenance, cleaning Server and client machine to avoid system break down.
• Provide support to staff in telecommunication, email, software, and internet connectivity.
• Keep in touch with the ISP, make sure that a stable internet connection is always available and in case of any failure resolve it accordingly.
• Conduct staff training on computer basics, MS Office applications and basic networking.
• Assist -as needed- with developing databases or other Microsoft application for program and operation staff.
• Designing secure and reliable MoEW Local domain
• Responsible for Updating, running of Antivirus and scanning of all the systems in MoEW network.
• Responsible for providing secure and uninterruptable Intranet system
• Responsible of User management and controlling the MoEW users
• Running new and secure policies for the intranet and internet usage
• Responsible for designing and documentation system of MoEW
• Responsible for configuration and running the Exchange of MOEW for better and fast communication
• Responsible use and confidentiality of any information identified as sensitive.
• Oversee, repair of computer hardware and software, facilitate and advise on best, safest and most economic solutions in consultation with the IT Systems Administrator.
• Wired/Wireless Router, Print Server, and Access Point installation and configuration.
• Responsible to perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required.

Job Requirement:

• Graduate in the fields of Computer Science or BBA;
• At least 3-4 years of professional working experience in the field in governmental or non-governmental organizations;
• Familiarity of MCP (Microsoft Certify Professional), MCSE (Microsoft Certify System Engineer) and CCNA (Cisco Certify Network Association)
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skill;
• Fluent in written /spoken Dari, Pashtu and English;
