Job Summary:

Network Security Specialist will be under overall supervision of Head of ASYCUDA. Network Security Specialist requires a technical background, including a working knowledge of network management protocols, networking architecture, authentication practices, and security administration. It is important that individual keep abreast of project security trends and developments, as well as applicable government regulations. They also should have excellent troubleshooting and communication skills, Network Security Specialist will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

Strong knowledge of networking concepts, routing & switches.

Should have very good experience on CISCO Security Appliances or equivalent

Demonstrate informed and transparent decision making.

Demonstrates very good understanding of and experience in communications and outreach;

High sense of responsibility. Tact, discretion, initiative and good judgment in dealing with staff members, partners and other stakeholders.

Ability to effectively synthesize information from diverse sources.

Duties & Responsibilities:


Provides guidance/recommendations to team members and other technical stakeholders regarding security.

Conducts technical presentations on Security domain.

Work closely with project teams to translate technology direction into development activities related to security.

Collaborates and accepts direction from Practice Architects, clients and other leadership stakeholders

Experience in the use of tools and methods to identify security exposures and business risks.

Familiarity with information system attack methods and vulnerability management.

Being able to provide IT security policies and procedures

Handling 3rd party penetration testing of corporate production; infrastructure, worked on penetration testing findings remediation;

Be able to recommend setting up centralized logging for network devices/appliances and servers in a new data center.

Brought in to find the weak spots in a company's IT system and figure out the best way to defend it from attacks.

Engaging and providing technical expertise to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Conducting regular security audits

Assisting in disaster recovery and gathering evidence regarding cybercrimes.

Identify compromised machines and report on security measures taken to address threats

Configure and manage security appliances and gateways to enforce security standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines to identify, assess and minimize risks pertaining to corporate data when needed.

Manage, monitor and update malware prevention systems.

Monitoring security advisory groups to ensure all necessary network security updates, patches and preventive measures are in place.

Conduct IT risk assessments.

Implement local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data networks.

Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and system performance.

Schedules and conducts self-assessments of business applications to ensure compliance with published policies and standards; collects, compiles, and generates information security reports on system and network accesses; reports and prepares briefing packages for presentation to customers and management.

Documents procedures, executes and improves operational processes.

Performs other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

a. Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical, Information Technology, Information Systems, Systems Engineering or related field.

b. Work Experience

Minimum 5 years of networking, information security and technology management experience (experience and understanding of all security domains)

Dedicated 2 years of experience in Network Security

Broad - based working knowledge of networking server administration.

Experience in CISCO security systems

Knowledge with multiple operating systems, such as, Windows, Linux, etc.

Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite of tools in facilitating written communication and communication with team members, stakeholders, end users.

Relevant experience in World Bank funded projects, ministries, and also experience in working with civil society organizations and international organizations will be preferred.

Fluency in both oral and written English, Pashto and Dari languages are essential.
