Duties & Responsibilities:
â€¢ Provide surveillance troubleshooting, controlling and resolving of all network related faults i.e. core (switching), Transmission, Radios, Power (Rectifiers etc)
â€¢ Activate newly integrated BTS sites, Nodes (core element) after normal working hours , weekend, public holidays in ensuring optimal network performance and meeting business objectives and plans at all times
â€¢ Monitor and acknowledge alarms from all network elements such Core, Transmission and Power Networks
â€¢ Real Time Performance monitoring of all network elements effectively and provide daily reports for the next action to be carried out to improve network quality.
â€¢ Perform routine maintenance on all network nodes across all switching center in the country
â€¢ Assume responsibility for correctly forwarding trouble tickets issued against all NMS-MTNA Staffs, other GSM providers, International providers and MTN contractors. Also ensure that those tickets are resolved within specified period
â€¢ Identify malfunctioning of network element for overall efficiency and trouble spots using various NMC tools such as Ericsson OSS, Harris , FACTS and some in-house developed tools
â€¢ Dispatch all unresolved faults to the NMC Supervisor if necessary
â€¢ Ensure transmission cutover (radio, satellite, fibre, SDH backbone, PDH links), route expansion and BTSs cutover are proper implemented and in line with service level agreements.
â€¢ Act as interface and provide access ref number to MTN Contractors, Field Engineers, Operational Maintenance Centre Engineers and other GSM companies for planned work/change request and access to all MTN Location
â€¢ Hands-on resolution of all unresolved subscribers problems/faults on switching and prepaid platform received from Call centre, Friendship centres, Information System(IS), Marketing, Sales and distributions and others department from MTN
â€¢ Perform NMC duties as instructed by NMC Supervisor, e.g., correlation of outages, adjustment of availability parameters, follow-up and clearing of specific network faults.
â€¢ Escalate all faulty devices or hardware detected after troubleshooting/diagnosing (which cannot be resolved remotely) to the field support engineers (Radio, Transmission, and others) for replacement in order to improve network performance.
â€¢ Provide real time security information to all regional security offices across the country in order to prevent all MTNA equipments through real time network surveillance
â€¢ Provide ideas and feedback on software tools, procedures and improvements to NMC functionality.
â€¢ Assist Capital program group engineers/Radio Engineers/Optimisation and support personnel with clearing of complex faults.
â€¢ Ensure properly monitoring and implementation of all network changes according to the organisation process and procedures
â€¢ Provide regular update on MTNAN performance and other network issues to the management, call centre, sales and distribution, marketing and other relevant department in MTNA
â€¢ Perform other duties as assigned by the NMC Supervisor.
- B.Sc. Electrical Electronics /Computer Science/Engineering or a related field
- Experience in GSM switching environment preferably working on Ericsson switches is desirable
- Preferably with at least 3 years hands-on experience in light current, telecommunications or a related field
- Should be fluent in English and local languages Pashto and Dari.
- Computer literacy.
- Good Communication Skill
