For the children
ïƒ®Medical care of each child: sanitary follow up of every child: basic healthcare and referral to doctors, clinics or hospitals when necessary.
ïƒ®Individual follow up of the childrenâ€™s health, reporting keeping an updated report of each childâ€™s health situation (database and personal files)
ïƒ®Report the childrenâ€™s health problems to their family and give them guidance.
ïƒ®Activities raising awareness about Health and Hygiene, nutrition, etc.
For the family
ïƒ®Involve the family in the childâ€™s treatment process: discussion with the family; report about the childâ€™s health problems, explain about the disease and provide guidance to the family throughout the care process (hospital, treatment, follow up)
ïƒ®Family supervision of health and Education about hygiene when necessary
ïƒ®Trainings and raising awareness activities for mothers and fathers about health, child care, nutrition, family planning, etc.
ïƒ®Actively participate in workshops and supervision provided or recommended by EMDH
ïƒ®Give feedback on the evolution of sick children to the livelihood officer and social workers
ïƒ®Represent EMDH values, objectives and project in the community
ïƒ®Favour communication regarding child protection
ïƒ®Be in contact with the community and health services
ïƒ®Be in contact with the social partners and advise families on relevant structures (NGO, MoLSAâ€¦)
ïƒ®Organize, coordinate and possibly facilitate sensitisation meetings around relevant issues.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The nurse is responsible for the sanitary follow up of the children involved in EMDH programs, guidance to the families regarding healthcare, and health education to both children and families.
In addition she is in charge of :
ïƒ®Direct link with the families aimed at developing proper healthcare for the child, as well as preventive measures.
ïƒ®Representing EMDH values, objectives and project in the community
ïƒ®Know the children and the families
ïƒ®Giving a feed back on the community evolution
ïƒ®Favour communication regarding Promoting child protection
Experience in education / as a nurse
Able to work with and to adapt to heterogenic groups of children and adults
Knowledge in Child Protection, and women rights is an advantage
Strong motivation to work with vulnerable teenagers and women
Ability to work in a team as well as independently
English speakers are welcome
