Mine Action Coordination Center of Afghanistan, Multi Location
The Operations Associate under the direct supervision of the Area Managers is responsible for the following assigned tasks:
• Assist in supervising all current Mine Action operational teams in the area of responsibility.
• Monitor mine action affairs by regularly visiting the field operations.
• Preparation of briefing documents for operations meetings.
• Controls the daily attendance of the current operations teams.
• Daily interface with the mine action database facility and keep it updated.
• Assist area manager in preparation or verification of annual and quarterly mine action operational plan.
• Oversee the quality check of reports before and after the data entry.
• Preparation of reports and statistics.
• Act as a member for Board of Inquiry when requested.
• Conduct investigations of demining/none demining accident and missed device incidents when directed by area manager.
• Maintenance and control of task data sheets and briefing the details to the operations assistant/s and carry out debriefing on the collected data.
• Provide technical advice needed by field operators.
• Supervise, ask and monitor AMAC Ops assistants, and Landmine Impact Assessment teams.
• Coordinate the Emergency Response Teams (ERT) and LIATs operations
• On behalf of Area Manager, Manage all AMAC related activities in the area in his/her absence
• Oversee AMAC filing system
• Response to requests received by AMAC from local peoples/ local authorities
• Coordinate CDS booking for demolition
• Prepare the minutes of the meetings
• Make sure the demining accident data is accurately maintained and updated.
• Arrangement for visitors in the field
• Any other task advised by area manager in the related field
Official Travel
• It is assumed that the incumbent will undertake approximately 25 % travel per month.
• Secondary Diploma is required (Bachelors Degree is an asset).
• At least 5 years progressively responsible experience in managing mine action related activities in humanitarian programs
• Demining related field experience
• Proven experience in the management of mines/ERW clearance operations and through knowledge of mine action standards and SOPs
• Leadership skill
• Self reliant and able to work independently and to a deadline.
• Must be computer literate
• Fluent in English and local languages, Pashto, Dari, all oral and written
• Physically fit and in good health
