About Mine Action Coordination Center of Afghanistan:
The Operations Projects Manager under the supervision of Chief of Operations through the related section head is responsible for managing specific project(s) that he/she is allocated for. The duties and responsibilities of the OPS Project Manager is included but not limited to the following:
Duties & Responsibilities:
â€¢ Check the allocated projects planning and make sure it is according to the national work plan
â€¢ Check the allocated projects proposals and ensure their accuracy and cost effectiveness
â€¢ Ensures the work progresses according to the project plan
â€¢ Manages the allocated projects and update Chief of Operations timely
â€¢ Writes reports for the allocated projects concerning planning, implementation method and quality monitoring for the specific project(s) that he/she is allocated
â€¢ Continually reviews the working procedures and outputs of the allocated projects and provide technical advices to the implementers
â€¢ Conduct project progress analysis and communicate his/her findings from the effectiveness point of view with the implementing organization and MACCA Chief of OPS and based on the results of analysis recommend appropriate improvement
â€¢ Establish a strong liaison with the organizations implementing the projects and provide necessary coordination related assistances to them
â€¢ Arrange periodical briefing on the progress of the allocated projects to MACCA Chief of OPS and if required to the MACCA Front Office
â€¢ Evaluates and tracks the allocated projectsâ€™ weekly, monthly progressive, quarterly, annual reports and ensure their accuracy before it is entered into IMSMA
â€¢ Establish good relationship with all development actors and accumulate their development activities/projects plans when needed and maintain a database of planned development projects.
â€¢ Assist MACCA Communications Unit in delivering the general public information campaign regarding the nature and extend of the landmine problem in Afghanistan to all development actors.
â€¢ Conduct outreach visits to the various development actors e.g. GoA Ministries, NGO, UN agencies etc in order to identify their future plans and projects which may be affected by contamination from landmine/ERW hazards.
â€¢ Provide technical support to development actors for those who are involved in tendering demining support for their projects.
â€¢ Plan and manage quality circle meetings as a quality improvement project
â€¢ Oversee the monitoring process conducted by operations staff in their areas of responsibility.
â€¢ Draft technical reports as required;
â€¢ Ensure that monthly statistics are provided to the Chief of QM in due course;
â€¢ Collaborate closely with the QM team members in OPS Department at HQ/field level and other stakeholders in Mine Action.
â€¢ Undertake any other task given by the Chief of OPS
â€¢ Bachelorâ€™s degree in Resource Management, Administration, Public Relation, Social Affairs, Project Management or other related fields; or Secondary Diploma with 2 years of additional relevant work experience can be considered.
â€¢ At least have 5 years of experience in management specifically in project managing
â€¢ Having knowledge in project management preferably completing at least a project management course.
â€¢ Experience with De-mining NGOs is an asset.
â€¢ Good understanding of Quality Management procedures.
â€¢ Proven leadership skills
â€¢ Excellent computer skills
â€¢ Proven sound organizational and planning skills
â€¢ Courteous and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
â€¢ Fluent in English Pashto and Dari
â€¢ Have good communication skill
â€¢ Able to establish good and quick relationship with the stakeholders
â€¢ Ability to work independently while und4er pressure; must be flexible and adaptable
