Afghanistan Center for Training and Development - ACTD, Multi Location
Purpose: The Organizational Development Officer acts as organizational development (OD) consultant to Intermediary Service Organization (ISO) and Civil Society Support Center (CSSC) NGO partners. S/he conducts participatory OD assessments, supports partners/CSOs in developing and implementing action plans for organizational development, and provides them with technical assistance. S/he will report to I-PACS program manager and work closely with the Counterpart OD officers and other relevant departments.
This position requires that the incumbent work with a minimum of supervisory guidance and act in a responsible and professional manner as a representative of the organization and program... This position supports all I-PACS ISOs and CSSCs activities, contributing as a team member.
• Conduct participatory Organization Development assessments of Afghanistan Center for Training and Development and partner CSSCs.
• Assist ACTD and partner CSSCs to identify goals and develop action plans for the organizations’ development.
• Assist CSSCs to develop proposals to receive certain grants.
• Follow up with ACTD and partner CSSCs and CSOs, on the implementation of their action plans. This includes reviewing relevant project reports of partner CSSCs and CSOs to assess activities and results against action plans and to provide feedback with preventive and corrective recommendations.
• Assist partner CSSCs and CSOs to access resources for addressing OD needs and help them to plan for and get the most out of OD interventions.
• Provide partner CSSCs and the CSOs with direct practical technical assistance according to their needs and areas of expertise
• Provide internal trainings and consultations to ACTD and partner CSSCs staff in terms of OD activities and support them in providing technical assistance to CSOs.
• Support partner CSSCs and CSOs in completing capacity assessment checklists.
• Participate in collection of information for and preparation of bi weekly and quarterly reports on program activities, including review of partner CSSCs and CSOs reports and provide constructive feedback as needed.
• Participate in promoting the exchange of OD information and expertise across the country.
• University degree or relevant equivalent experience in General Management, Businesses Administration, or related field.
• At least 3 years of progressively more responsible work in capacity building and organizational development, program management; experience working with NGOs strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in English language, both spoken and written, in addition to two main local languages, Dari and Pashto.
• Good computer skills to include Internet, Word, Excel, database.
• Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent cross-cultural skills, ability to work in a diverse, multi-cultural NGO environment, with respect, professionalism and gender sensitivity.
• Ability to travel to provinces.
