Job Summary

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
The technician of orthopaedic workshop has the following tasks:

1. To work under the supervision of the center supervisor.
2. To help disabled people by the production of orthopaedic devices which are ordered by the physiotherapy section
3. Assessment of the patient, prescription of the appliances together with physiotherapist
4. To work under the supervision of the center supervisor.

6. Assessment of the patient, prescription of the appliances together with physiotherapist
7.
8. Costing, modification, alignment and finishing of the artificial limbs and assistive devices.
9. Contribution to the gate training of patient after they receive appliances
10. Keep record of all patients and beneficiaries.
11. To train bench workers or helper in basic related services in on job training
12. To co-operate with other personnel of the orthopaedic workshop in production of orthopaedic devices.
13. Technically assist project manager in preparation of the list for orthopedic workshop material and tools and other needy material
14. Take care of machinery and tools of orthopedic workshop
15. To participate in the workshop weekly meetings.
16. Provide monthly, quarterly and annually statistic and narrative report of the workshop activities
17. Any other duties commensurate with level as instructed by line manager

Job Requirements

Qualification:

1. Diploma in Orthopaedic technology / one year Certificate in Orthopaedic Technology with 2 years practical experience in orthopaedic technology
2. Familiarity with different orthopaedic technologies used in the field of technical orthopaedics/ prosthetics and orthotics.
3. Good communication with the workshop staff and with the patient
4. Able to visit outside the centre (house of patient)
