About Assistance for Health, Education and Development - AHEAD:

Assistance for Health, Education and Development (AHEAD) is implementing SEHATMANDI-BPHS project in Nooristan province. AHEAD is seeking for a qualified Pharmacy Assistant for SEHATMANDI-BPHS project, Nooristan.
• Minimum of 2 years of work experience in the relevant position
• Good understanding of the Pharmacy services provided in BPHS.
• Good teamwork spirit and be able to work in under pressure conditions/circumstances
• Ability to work independently
• Good communication skills
• Language skills: Fluent in written and spoken Pashto/Dari and English
• Computer skills (Word Excel PowerPoint)
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Pharmacy Assistant under the overall guidance and supervision of the Pharmacy officer, DPM, MP and pharmacy Manager ensures that all applicable Pharmacy procedures are exercised in accordance with AHEAD’s Policies and Procedures Handbook at SEHATMANDI-BPHS projects. The pharmacy assistant needs to maintain medicines to HFs according to BPHS medicines list. All medicines documents that supplied each quarter to HFs. should update on the medicines' stock card.
Pharmacy assistant will be focusing on achievement of the following results:
Ø The pharmacy assistant aid the pharmacy officer to promotes Rationale use of Drugs in HF, and controls the Wastage of drugs and develops need-based quarterly pharmacy requisition requests.
Ø The pharmacy assistant will aid the pharmacy officer to make sure NSTG implementation and respect by health facility staff and in charge of HFs writing the prescriptions according to the treatment of NSTG efficient manner.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Coordinate and supervise the activities of health workers working in HFs particular, HFs pharmacy
Ø Transfer/entry data from paper formats into computer files or database systems
Ø Type in data provided directly from Health facilities
Ø Support pharmacy stock management system and ensure daily update of the stock card balance
Ø Organize pharmacy stock with standard pharmacy rules
Ø Update existing data, and data verification in the field/HFs
Ø Support medicine packing and supply to HFs and HPs
Ø Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested for reporting or decision making
Ø Ensure provincial stock and HFs pharmacy stock physical inventory regularly
Ø Support FIFO and FEFO practice in provincial and HFs pharmacy stock
Ø Support packing and supply of an emergencies kits
Ø Through the transfer of knowledge and skills, enhances the ability and capacity of health worker in Health facility to ensure smooth implementation of the pharmacy system
Ø Promote gender equality, non-discrimination with regard to ethnic, political and religious background
Ø To participate in workshops, seminars & conferences organized by the AHEAD, MoPH.
Ø Promotes good coordination with all AHEAD units and other departments and especially Nooristan BPHS and the main office of AHEAD.
Ø Maintain good cooperative relation with PPHD and other relevant authorities/stakeholders at national and provincial
Ø To actively contribute to the successful development and good reputation of the AHEAD
Ø Act according to the policy and regulations of AHEAD
Ø Keep updated with issues related to AHEAD and the environment where AHEAD operates
Ø Promote an attitude of team spirit and a strong focus on quality
Ø Develop good co-operation with AHEAD units, authorities, institutions and other NGOs
Ø Do the related job as delegated by the Pharmacy officer, Pharmacy Manager, Technical Manager, or Project manager.
Ø To do any other official duties assigned by the line supervisor and manager.
