Job Summary:

The Placement Officer Provincial is a full-time, program with mobility and access at provincial Career Centers at targeted public universities and internship host institutions. S/he will support and counselling to university students on employment services including internship, and regular jobs. The incumbent will work closely with Senior Placement Officer in mapping and bringing in the potential private, public and NGO entities to provide provincial universities students with employment opportunities.

Duties & Responsibilities:


Support the work of the Senior Placement Officer by providing proactive technical assistance for the placement initiatives at USWDP target universities, including university students’ internship programs and employment partnerships;

Provide technical and logistical support to Career Centers for organizing career events;

Work closely with all Heads of Career Centers and make sure the number of planned placements are achieved within the planned timeframe;

Work closely with employers to secure internship and long term job opportunities for students at USWDP target universities;

Conduct follow up visits to the Career Center sites to oversee the internships provided to students and collect employers feedback on the overall performance of interns;

Assist in providing provincial university students with internship programs, practicum and regular jobs;

Maintain a daily job search on job search engines to make sure that Career Centre trainees are placed per their qualification and employer expectations;

Record, communicate and follow-up the meeting minutes, while the university public private partnership unit meet the public and private companies for possible placement efforts;

Assist in outreach and promotion interventions of Career Centers’ employment services to students and job-seeking graduates;

Other responsibilities and tasks as assigned by the supervisor or project leadership.

Job Requirement:


Bachelor Degree Accredited university degree in (economics, business, education, development and social sciences);

Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience in program/project management in development, governance, workforce and private sector development;

International donor-funded program experience and knowledge of USAID programs and regulations;

Computer skills, including MS. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint;

Excellent oral/written communication skills in English and both national languages;

Demonstrated strong communication, teamwork, and innovative skills;

Capable of working independently with minimal supervision but skillful in collaborating and coordinating with other program staff and partners.
