Duties & Responsibilities:
â€¢ Provide training and mentoring to CHW trainers and community health supervisors as well as orientation to health facility staff to implement prevention of postpartum hemorrhage program
â€¢ Supervise CHW training courses on prevention of PPH program
â€¢ Conduct advocacy meeting with provincial, district and community authorities on prevention of postpartum hemorrhage program
â€¢ Conduct post training follow up visits in the field, identity gaps, give feedback or provide on the job training if necessary
â€¢ Visit and hold planning/implementation meetings with HSSP and partners to address specific issues such as:
oReview of training and IEC materials
oMonitoring and evaluation of PPH activities
oReview efforts to date and develop a plan for scaling up the intervention
â€¢ In collaboration with field staff, ensure necessary program planning, development and management activities function smoothly and efficiently
â€¢ Work collaboratively to ensure that resources for program implementation are available to the field
â€¢ Conduct monitoring and supervision of program implementation in the field
â€¢ Take part in project planning including development of workplans
â€¢ Ensure progress reports are written in a timely fashion.
â€¢ Take part in project team meetings and ensure all activities are coordinated with other technical team members.
â€¢ Provide translation for international staff and visiting consultants.
â€¢ Comply with HSSP operational and security guidelines and policies.
â€¢ Generalist doctor with training skills; obstetrician/gynecologist; or midwife; or nurse. Due the nature of this post preference will be given to qualified female candidates.
â€¢ Recent experience working on community-based project and the BPHS
â€¢ Demonstrated proficiency in training of CHW trainers and CHS
â€¢ Extensive experience working with national/international NGOs and public sector institutions in Afghanistanâ€™s health sector, including the MOPH.
â€¢ Programming, management and decision making skills
â€¢ Ability to work collaboratively with expatriate clinical and technical counterparts.
â€¢ Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with colleagues in a complex and rapidly changing environment; excellent interpersonal skills.
â€¢ Spoken and written competence in Dari and Pashto.
â€¢ Experience in data collection and HMIS
â€¢ Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
â€¢ Ability to speak and write coherently and effectively in English.
â€¢ Good computer ability, including competence in word processing, internet/e-mail.
â€¢ Ability and willingness to travel to Afghanistan provincial capitals and rural areas for significant amounts of time (estimated 40% travel) without Mahram or overseas as requested.
