The Procurement Specialist will provide overall support to the Senior Procurement Officer in maintaining updated filing systems and vendor databases, assisting with inventory of all assets/belongings and procurement procedures in compliance with ASI/E policy and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Procurement Specialist will perform the following functions but not limited to:
â€¢Assist with monitoring, tracking and expediting all ASI/E procurement activities and delivery status of goods/services
â€¢Assist with solicitation of bids and quotes from potential vendors in adherence with program policies
â€¢Assist with communications related to processing and status of payments to suppliers
â€¢Assist with logging of requests in a on-line database system, coordinating and expediting local purchases
â€¢Assist with updates to requestors
â€¢Assist with effective tracking
â€¢Assist with identifying potential local vendors and suppliers
â€¢Assist with maintaining up-to-date ASI /E Inventory database
â€¢Assist with coordination of goods transport
â€¢Collaborate closely with the Procurement and Logistics Teams as required
â€¢Assist with management and maintenance of filing system
â€¢Assist with vendor payment processing as needed
â€¢Carry out other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Senior Procurement Officer or Procurement Manager
â€¢Perform other related duties as assigned.
â€¢Secondary school degree required.
â€¢Minimum of 2 years experience in an equivalent position. Experience working in a similar position for an NGO or an international organization is preferred. International Organization funded project experience is a clear plus. Must have willingness to travel to ASI/E Afghanistan field offices on ASI/E business. Must also have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment. In addition, must be flexible, willing to perform other duties and work irregular hours.
