Job Summary:

The Procurement Specialist will provide overall support to the Senior Procurement Officer in maintaining updated filing systems and vendor databases, assisting with inventory of all assets/belongings and procurement procedures in compliance with ASI/E policy and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Procurement Specialist will perform the following functions but not limited to:
•Assist with monitoring, tracking and expediting all ASI/E procurement activities and delivery status of goods/services
•Assist with solicitation of bids and quotes from potential vendors in adherence with program policies
•Assist with communications related to processing and status of payments to suppliers
•Assist with logging of requests in a on-line database system, coordinating and expediting local purchases
•Assist with updates to requestors
•Assist with effective tracking
•Assist with identifying potential local vendors and suppliers
•Assist with maintaining up-to-date ASI /E Inventory database
•Assist with coordination of goods transport
•Collaborate closely with the Procurement and Logistics Teams as required
•Assist with management and maintenance of filing system
•Assist with vendor payment processing as needed
•Carry out other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Senior Procurement Officer or Procurement Manager
•Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirement:

•Secondary school degree required.

•Minimum of 2 years experience in an equivalent position. Experience working in a similar position for an NGO or an international organization is preferred. International Organization funded project experience is a clear plus. Must have willingness to travel to ASI/E Afghanistan field offices on ASI/E business. Must also have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment. In addition, must be flexible, willing to perform other duties and work irregular hours.

•Proficiency in spoken and written Pashto and English, Dari a plus
