• Generate an idea for his/her show and consult with presenter(s) and researcher(s);
• Get the approval of the head of the department before proceeding;
• Assign researcher(s) and presenter, in case needed, to gather background information and draft key questions and topics;
• Discuss potential guests with his/her team before inviting them for the show;
• Make sure all arrangements are set in the technical side in consultation with the Directors of Studios;
• Ensure graphics, lower thirds and background videos are used in the show(s);
• Back up presenter(s) while on air or recording;
• Help video editors for quality editing;
Producers play a crucial role to produce current affairs programmes and talk shows. The initial idea for a programme/talk show often comes from a producer, who will oversee each project from conception to completion, both in the studio and on location.
Producers work closely with the head of the Current Affairs Department and reports directly to him/her. Producers oversee the activities of his/her team of researchers and presenters and assistant producers and provide the department head with written daily reports. The producer is responsible for any mistakes and errors in the programme(s).
• Consult with Programme Manager to make sure the show goes on air according schedule;
• Suggest frequent developments and creativities in his/her show(s);
• Produce promotions for his/her show(s) and ensure their broadcasts;
• Available in urgent cases and to produce oth
• Bachelor degree (Journalism department, language and literature department);
• At least 2 years working experience in media is a must.
• Good communication and Dari and/or Pashto;
• Good English knowledge;
• Computer skills (office programs);
• Analytical skills;
• Responsibility and ability to work under pressure is required.
