Job Summary:

Programme Coordinator position aims at assisting Programmes Team on program quality and delivery, compiling and prepare regular reports and coordination with other functions and units. This is one of the senior management positions reporting to the Programme Advisor of the Country Program. The incumbent of the position will be responsible for the assisting Programme Advisor to deliver results.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Specific Responsibilities of the Position

•Assist Programme Advisor on program quality and delivery
•Coordination with other functions, units, departments, thematic heads and project managers
•Provide support in developing, designing and implement people centered and rights based programme in the fields, including policy and advocacy, work for vulnerability, mitigation, poverty reduction and social justice
•Provide support to Program Advisor in managing development, implementation and monitoring of programmes
•Compile and prepare regular reports
•Proper documentation of the work and updating the records/information and dates
•Support the programme staffs in development and implementation of programme support activities
•Manage the development of project proposals
•Ensure the timely submission of quality programme reports as agreed with the donor or in project proposal in coordination with relevant units
•Provide support to the PA in assessment of Development Areas (DAs) and evaluation of programmes of Actionaid Afghanistan
•Provide support to the PA and Impact Assessment and Shared learning Manager in Annual Participatory Review and Reflection Process and as well as annual reports in coordination with IASL Manager
•Provide support PA in evaluating performance appraisals of DAs and Staffs
•Writing meeting minutes and its follow up on action points
•Ensure that programme activities are carried out within agreed budgets
•Ensure the timely completion of programme processes for the release of funds of donors
•Documents required for release of funds are submitted by dates agreed in each project
•Represent AAA in meetings with government and other stakeholders as and when nominated to represent
•Any other responsibility assigned by the line manager as and when required

Job Requirement:

Personal Specifications:

•Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or arts/humanities
•At least 3 years minimum working experience in the social development field
•At least 3 years experience in a senior position in the development field particularly in designing, setting up and coordinating program activities
•In-depth understanding of Programming issues and policy work at the country and international levels
•Understanding of gender issues in development and demonstratable commitment to promoting gender equity within the organization and in programme work
