NDI Women in Politics and Governance programme need to hiar a programme officer for the women programme.
• Assisting the Director of WIPG in managing all aspects of the program;
• Preparing monthly reports on the program’s activities;
• Engaging members of NDI’s other programs—including Sub National Governance, Political Parties, and Elections—to identify opportunities to enhance women’s participation;
• Assess the state of women’s participation in politics and governance and identify opportunities for NDI to enhance participation;
• Conducting training for women in government, political parties, and civil society on issues related to women’s empowerment and skills enhancement;
• Training and advising candidates for political office, including women candidates;
• Liaising with other groups—international and Afghan—working in the realm of women’s rights and participation, such as Afghan Women’s Network (AWN), Women’s Parliamentary Committee, UNICEF, etc.;
• Liaising with the Independent Electoral Commission, Electoral Complaints Commission UNAMA, and other relevant bodies on election-related issues;
• Engaging women leaders of Afghan political parties, including women’s wings, and training/advising them on enhancing their role in the parties;
• Contributing technical and cultural input and expertise into all program materials, trainings, reports, and other activities;
• Helping manage all program expenses, budget tracking and projections, and accounting/reconciliations’
• Attending training/meetings/workshops organized by other institutions that contribute to the program’s objectives;
• Communicating with NDI’s regional offices on issues related to women’s programming and political developments at the provincial level;
• Basic consecutive translating assistance to expat staff when needed (for meetings).
• Monitor and report on political issues related to women in politics and governance;
• Ensure proper programmatic data collection for NDI’s Performance and Monitoring Plans (PMPs);
• Travel as required to perform duties and responsibilities in accordance with security guidelines;
• Minimum 3 years experience in international organizations, internships or research institutes.
• Professional-level written and spoken English, Dari/ Pashto.
• Strong attention to detail and high-level of organizational ability.
• Ability to work within a team and provide the highest possible level of professionalism.
• Advanced or equivalent degree in an applicable field.
• Good computer skills
• Able to work independently in a multi-disciplinary team
