Job Summary

The project coordinator based in Kunduz is in general in charge of activities related to the community-based DOTS and Breastfeeding support projects in Kunduz province and he/she will work under the direction of Project Manager in Kabul and coordinate all efforts with BPHS project management team.

Duties & Responsibilities

Specific tasks related to Community-DOTS project:
• Regular supervision/monitoring from TB DOTS project in all HFs and community level to ensure proper DOTS service delivery.
• To insure proper management of anti TB drugs, supplies and IEC/BCC materials in HF and HP levels.
• Managing the distribution of incentive for CHWs for their referral and follow up of positive cases.
• Ensure transfer of updated policies and guidelines related to TB to all facilities’ staff.
• Strengthening local health systems and building the capacity of local health staff.
• Participate in community health shura and empower its member about the related issue
Specific tasks related to Breastfeeding Support project:
• Overall management and follow up of the activities according to the work plan.
• Managing the staff (community mobilizing officers) and coordinate their activities with the community and BPHS project team.
• Prepare and submit monthly report and action plan to the HQ (project manager).
• Participate in community health shura and empower its member about the related issues
Specific tasks related to coordination:
• To coordinate all activities related to the projects with the management team of BPHS project at the provincial level.
• To coordinate activities related to community-DOTS with the provincial NTP officer, activities related to Breastfeeding with the provincial nutrition officer and in general for both projects with the PPHD and other related delegations/ agencies.
• To facilitate and act as focal person in case of monitoring/ evaluation of these projects by the government or donor agencies.
• To prepare and submit monthly report and action plan of the project.

Job Requirements

1. have a medical degree (preferably MD)
2. Fluent in English Language (speaking, reading and writing).
3. Computer Knowledge(Excel, Word, power point and email)
4. One year working experience in a NGO
5 Have good communication and coordination skills,
6. To be able to travel across the province and work with communities.
