The Project Coordinator will be responsible of all the implementation activities and of the general coordination of the project. She is responsible to effectively lead and manage Actionaid Afghanistan’s “Holistic Approach for the Reduction of Violence against Women in Afghanistan†Project in Heart and Kabul under specific strategies and plans of the project, developed by the women’s rights department.
1.Project Management
•Ensure that the Project conforms to ActionAid Afghanistan Program Principles and Project Standards. If the Project does not meet these standards at any stage of the project cycle, take appropriate steps to correct or improve identified areas.
•Review existing Project outputs and indicators so as to ensure that they are appropriate and if required suggest changes to line management.
•Develop and manage a comprehensive activity plan covering the time frame of the project proposal
•Develop Project start up plans in consultation with Project staff, line management. Following project initiation, develop regular (monthly) implementation plans and reports, also quarterly reports to donor.
•Establish and implement Project monitoring and evaluation systems in order to provide regular information on progress towards indicators of outputs and objectives and assess the impact of the Project.
•Provide technical assistance and support to Project and Actionaid staff as required.
•Financial, logistics, contract and personnel management
•Preparing and timely submitting statuary reports
•Proper documentation of the work and updating the records/information and date
2.Coordination / liaison function
•Establish and maintain positive working relationships with other institutions involved in the project. This should include regular contact to ensure they are fully and appropriately involved in the Project.
•Close coordination and strong communication with the Ministry of Women, AIHRC and Law Faculty in Herat and other stakeholders
•Coordination with ActionAid Afghanistan and ActionAid International including related thematic leaders, program manager, consultants, visitors and other departments within the organization.
3. Logistics
•To co-ordinate with the Logistics department and ensure all project related items are available on site in a timely fashion.
•To ensure that project stocks are ordered and delivery requested in time to deliver as needed by contractors and work teams.
4.Financial management
•To follow procurement procedures and logistics procedures for all project purchases.
•To provide all financial planning and reports as required by the Finance Manager (cash forecast, etc).
•Degree in Law and Political Science or related field
•Strong project management skills and experiences
•Strong leadership skills and a supportive management style
•Aptitude for community mobilization and capacity building
•Five years work experience in the same field.
•Fluency in writing and speaking English and local language Dari/Pashto
•Understanding of women’s rights based issues and approaches
•Strong analytical skills
•Flexible, forward looking, open, willingness to learn new things,
•Demonstrated ability to deliver quality reports within deadline
•Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, and establish harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outside the organization
•Computer skills
•Willingness to travel as per the project
