• Work with the DCOP and Implementation Manager on day to day activities and support him/her with all day to day logistics and management needs
• Supervise the maintenance of the program library and database of all deliverables, reports, and correspondences
• Respond to inquiries regarding local personnel, policies, accounting, finances, and other project activities and developments
• Prepare and present presentations regarding project status, deliverables, and budget
• Supervise the maintenance of project files and documents, i.e. project deliverables, approvals, communications, and background documents
• Supervise the coordination of travel (domestic and international), including obtaining visas, airline tickets, and hotel reservations, and ensuring that travel is in compliance with US government regulations
• Approve project-related documentation including invoices, ensuring transactions are properly documented and files organized
• Assist the Implementation Manager in executing and monitoring of ongoing procurement of all equipment and supplies needed for the ongoing effective operation with guidance from the DCOP
• Maintain inventory of all project assets
• Support financial management functions, such as review of expense reports
• Backstop the Project Coordinator as necessary during periods of absence
• Directly supervise the Project Coordinator
• Identifying, tracking, managing, and resolving project issues to the maximum extent possible
• Proactively disseminating project information to all stakeholders
• Identifying, managing, and mitigating project risk(s)
• Making sure the project is delivered in budget, on schedule, and within scope
• Proactively managing scope to ensure that only what was agreed to is delivered, unless changes are approved by USAID
• Defining and collecting metrics to give a sense for how the project is progressing and whether the deliverables produced are acceptable
• Managing the overall schedule to ensure work is assigned and completed on time and within budget and scope
• Assist COP and/or DCOP in developing the project plan
• Have work experience in Southern Afghanistan and fluent in Pashto
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the COP, DCOP, Implementation Manager
• College degree or Certificate in project management or related field or study towards such a certification.
• Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Office applications and internet software. Knowledge of inventory advantageous
• 3-5 years project management and coordination experience
