About AWEC:


AWEC is a non-political, non-profit, woman-headed national organization established in 1991 by a group of educated Afghan women in exile, who rallied together to address the lack of facilities for Afghan refugees in Islamabad and eventually Peshawar, in Pakistan. AWEC has always been involved in advocacy and awareness-raising for women and children’s rights while providing services to those who frequently fall through safety nets. In recent years, one of AWEC’s core activities has been to support women through mobilizing Afghans, from local communities to political elites, towards the goal of reducing and eventually eliminate violence and increase women participation in home, communities and society in large.

Job Summary:

The incumbent is responsible to manage the overall activities of GN Project and provide required support and services to the project staff

Skills Description:

·        At least 4 years of experience in managing, coordination, reporting and organizing training and other education events

  • Fluent in speaking and writing Dari, Pashto & English languages
  • Familiar with computer and office packages
  • Planning, and prioritizing skills

·        Honest, Motivated, tolerant, active and well mannered

  • Strong Interpersonal & communication skills

Duties & Responsibilities:

·        Manage and coordinate the overall project activities

·        Coordinate with managing, organizing and conducting meetings and workshops with relevant stakeholders

·        Support the project staff directly through technical advice, and regular feedback

·        Ensure timely preparation of work plans, budget forecast and activity plans

·        Prepare project related reports on a timely manner

  • Ensure that the project is adequately staffed and the staff are assigned properly with clear job descriptions and line of authorities and responsibilities
  • Standardize job description of all project staff and ensure that they are updated regularly to best meet project implementation requirements
  • Ensure that the project staff receive adequate training to enable them to fully meet the requirements of their jobs
  • Participate in the relevant clusters coordination meetings and share information with other agencies
  • Demonstrate team work and extend cooperation with other AWEC projects and departments
  • Translate the project related documents when required
  • Conduct field visits based on project requirements
  • Conduct orientation workshops for the project staff
  • Perform any other duties as required
