Afghan Family Guidance Association is a non-governmental, non-political, & non-profit Afghan registered organization which has established in 1968. AFGA has been working in the field of Reproductive Health inside Afghanistan since its inception. AFGA activities suspended due to war and disaster in the country for ten years (1992-2002) and restarted its activities in 2002 with financial support of International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). AFGA became associate member of the Federation recently .AFGA is currently providing family planning services through 12 Family Welfare Centers in Kabul city. AFGA is looking for a qualified professional for Research and Monitoring Assistant Position in its main Office, Kabul city.
AFGA is currently seeking for a Project Officer in head office, who is able to ensure high quality project coordinating, follow the work plan activities in planning, implementation and reporting to the donor. He / She will also be responsible for running specific project activities and will also assist the program team in implementation of other projects as well. The position is for a qualified medical doctor or any other person having the required experience in the field of public health.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Project Planning, Implementation and Reporting
Plan activities for specific projects;
Liaise with donors and partners and involve them in planning;
Deal with any issues arising in the project implementation and take remedial action with support from colleagues, partners and donors;
Ensure quality project implementation;
Organize training events pertaining to the specific project;
Attend external meetings and events related to the area of work;
Carry out supervision of the project – including visits to provinces;
Identify and record lessons learnt and case studies;
Plan and carry out evaluation of the project;
Write timely progress reports for donors, partners and management;
Carry out any other activities necessary for the planning, implementation and reporting of specific projects.
Assist the M&E department in carrying out M&E activities e.g. data collection, report collection.
Carry out any other activities as assigned by the line manager.
Maintain organized hard and soft files on projects;
Participate in HR related activities pertaining to the project – e.g. supervision of field/temporary staff, appraisals of temporary and field staff, interviews and tests;
Prepare reports for finance with regards to field staff salaries and other expenses;
Liaise with logistics colleagues to ensure that the needs of the project are met;
Carry out all administrative activities such as drafting, editing, printing and so on that relates to specific projects;
Business Development and Other Activities
Play an active role in identification of funding opportunities;
Take active part in development of project proposals;
Take part in other activities of the organization as necessary.
Medical Doctor degree or bachelor’s degree in relevant field;
Able to communicate very well in Pashtu and Dari;
Good professional grasp of written and spoken English language;
Able to use computer software such as MS Word, Excel and the internet;
