Job Summary

Project Background
The project titled as community based disaster risk reduction and response will be implemented in central, Sozma Qala and Kohistanat districts of Sar-e-Pul province. The project will deliver messages on climatic issues, disaster risk reduction, conflict transformation and gender mainstreaming at the community level through arranging community based civic education sessions. Total of ‘100’ sessions will be conducted to males and the same number to females separately. Additionally all gender and conflict transformation issues will be mainstreamed at ACTD’s all program levels.
Overall responsibility
The Community Based Integrated Disaster Risk Response Program Supervisor is responsible for overall planning, management of the Program at the field level, supervising, managing activities, and reporting activities within the Program. The position will be supported by a close relationship with CBDRR program project manager as BPHS project manager of Saripul project, ACTD main office focal point with other relevant staff and the donor to ensure consistent and effective activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist the project office staff and community mobilizer in explaining the responsibilities of all stakeholders in the project at the field level.
• Supervise and support the CBDRR activities at provincial level.
• Give on the job training, orientation and timely support to the project office staff.
• Maintain good relationships through effective communication with CBDRR project staff, all sectors, other NGOs and especially with the communities in the rural areas.
• Assist with the community mobilizer and coordinate activities with the Kabul-based CBDRR focal point
• Analyze the community mobilzer report with support from the CBDDR Project Manager, Kabul-based CBDDR project focal point.
• Refer environmental health and disaster messages to the project office staff and related community in field level.
• Provide disaster risk response training for the staff, and support CBDRR team to conduct disaster risk reduction training to beneficiaries at the field level.
• Assist with and analyze disaster risk reduction practices survey in the end of the project and provide report to the CBDRR project Manager and Kabul-based CBDRR project focal point.
• Establishment , supervising, and giving support to VDC,DDC and PDC in the selected district of Sar-e-Pule province.
• Summarize and consolidate the CBDRR project office Reports to the CBDRR project Manager and Kabul-based CBDRR program focal point.
• To conduct CBDRR program disaster risk reduction training for community mobilizer in field level.
• Monthly activity reports submission of the project to ACTD main office CBDRR project focal point focal point and CBDRR project manager
• Attend and participate in trainings identified/organized by your supervisor
• Any other duties as assigned by your supervisor

Job Requirements

Qualifications
. Qualified health professional medical doctor is preferably
• At least 3 years experience in CBDRR related work
• Knowledge in conducting training related to disaster risk reduction response
• Proficiency in English
• Fluency in Pashto and Dari speaking, writing and computer skills
• Proficiency in computer
• Excellent ability to communicate with others
• Ability to prepare reports on project activities
