Working under the direction supervision of the Operations Direction and in close collaboration with Administrative, Logistic and Financial Coordination as well as with the Monitoring and Evaluation Department based in main office (Kabul), the Provincial Coordinator is responsible for the development of Madera’s excellent knowledge of the province and Madera’s excellent relations with local authorities, local population, and partners. He ensures the coordination and the quality of Madera’s programmes implemented in the province (Emergency, Rehabilitation and Development Projects). Finally, he ensures the smooth functioning of Madera’s bases in the province, including reporting duties.
• Ensure the quality of Madera’s external communication, representation and relations in the province;
• Collect and update accurate information concerning population, socio-economic situation, access to the different areas, development priorities and needs, local authorities and other actors etc.;
• Develop a network of contacts that allows him to get quick and reliable information about the situation of all the areas of the province;
• Coordinate the different projects implemented in the province and the related teams in coordination with Programmes or Projects Managers (PMs);
• Manage and supervise specific projects or programmes when requested by the Operations Direction;
• Ensure the proper implementation by Team Leaders (TLs) and technical staff of work and actions plans designed by PMs;
• Coordinate a multidisciplinary team (support and programme staff);
• Ensure the implementation and respect of MADERA procedures within the province (Logistic, HR, Financial, Security);
• Make proper and effective use and allocation of means both logistics (cars, generators...) and human resources, to the different programmes;
• Ensure the appropriate flow of information within the team and between the province and main office.
• University degree or equivalent professional experience in the field of project management, rural development and/or agro-economics;
• At least 2 to 5 years experience in managerial level positions;
• Excellent communication skills including a good sense of diplomacy and discernment;
• Leadership skills;
• Good knowledge of project’s management process (planning and reporting activities, planning of logistics and budget);
• Fluent in English and Dari (spoken and written);
• Good use of Office Pack (in particular Word and Excel);
• Able to travel regularly to both Taywara and Pasaband districts of Ghor.
