The position will be based in the Focus District of each province. This role in the management of the extension service is critical for its success, and requires supervision of Extension Officers work programs and reporting
Duties & Responsibilities:
â€¢Close liaison with FOD, M and E and Capacity Building components of HLP, in particular with Coordinators of these components based in the region
â€¢Provide close collaboration on HLP activities with Provincial Agriculture Directors of MAIL
â€¢Hold regular team meetings with Extension Officers to discuss common experience and problems.
â€¢Provincial Coordinators support Extension Officers in identifying members and forming Farmer Groups/HIGs, in collaboration with FOD Component where appropriate
â€¢Provincial Coordinators will also support ongoing communications with Shura/CDC and other regional or provincial organizations with an interest in the agriculture sector, including other donor funded projects.
Good English skills are required for this role, as is the ability to use computers for reporting and email communication. Preferable Provincial Coordinators will have minimum of 5 years of experience managing small teams of field workers, as well as knowledge of agriculture programs in Afghanistan. It is preferred that Provincial Coordinators have University education in agriculture or related discipline.
