UNDP Afghanistan is supporting the Government of Afghanistan to implement the Afghanistan Peace and Reintegration Programme. This programme is supported by the international community and the United Nations to bring long term security and stability to Afghanistan. To implement this programme, a Peace and Reintegration (P&R) Trust Fund will be established to support various reintegration efforts, including training programmes, development activities and technical support.
The key results have an impact on the help convince a larger population to understand the benefits and long-term impact of the project, i.e. more commanders will accept to disband their group and convince more to adhere to the project.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Summary of key functions:
â€¢ Support to formulation and implementation of information and sensitization strategies
â€¢ Organization of PI mobile campaigns in the region
â€¢ Providing Regional Office with feedback on the perception of DIAG and act in response, Coordinate in Monitoring and Evaluation issues with CO
â€¢ Ensure Facilitation knowledge building and management
1- Ensures the Support to formulation and implementation of information and sensitization strategies focusing on the achievement of the following results:
â€¢ Elaborates speeches and public documents aimed at creating a general climate favorable to DIAG;
â€¢ Once cleared by the ROM, the PI Associate disseminates the elaborated material as well as the sensitization material provided by PI Central Office;
â€¢ In coordination with the ROM, organize public gatherings and addressing audiences;
â€¢ Review of reference materials, identification of reference materials for distribution;
â€¢ Provision of inputs and information for elaboration of CO Public Information (PI) strategy based on the corporate PI strategy, provide PI CO with inputs for publications, photographs etc;
â€¢ Research and retrieval of data from relevant sources.
2- Ensures the Organization of PI mobile campaigns in the regions and coordinate M and E issues at the regional office, focusing on the achievement of the following results:
â€¢ Responsible for briefing authorities prior to the event; convince them to take the floor and support DIAG message.
â€¢ Responsible for coordinating the venues, dates and locations, as well as the invitations to the public and the local authorities;
â€¢ Responsible for coordinating the logistical aspects of mission, along with ANBP administration.
3- Ensures providing Regional Office with feedback on the perception of DIAG and act in response, focusing on the achievement of the following results:
â€¢ Keeps the ROM and PI abreast of the publicâ€™s perception towards DIAG in his/her AOR (media monitoring, mission reports, feedback on the sensitization activities under his/her responsibility) and provide inputs for PI Publications;
â€¢ Coordinate and Assist in Monitoring and Evaluation issues at the regional office.
4- Ensures facilitation of knowledge building and management focusing on achievement of the following results:
â€¢ Support to CO/RO staff in identification, documenting and drafting of best practices and lessons learned;
â€¢ Organization of training for the RO staff on effective communications and advocacy;
â€¢ Perform any other task when required.

â€¢ Must be computer literate, and able to use MS Word and MS Excel
â€¢ Ability to work in a team and adapt quickly to a fast â€“ paced work environment.
â€¢ Ability to start work at short notice
â€¢ Good written and oral English is required.
â€¢ Fluent in Pashto and Dari. Able to translate rapidly from and into English, Dari and Pashto.
â€¢ Willingness to work in a multi cultural environment.
â€¢ Good knowledge of local languages besides Dari and Pashto spoken by ethnic minorities in the target region will be an asset.
