The Public Relations Officer is responsible for providing assistance in external communication and the provision of public information as it relates to the work of the NSDP | MoLSAMD through publications, outreach to the press and community groups, content development for communications and responses to inquiries related to the NSDP | MoLSAMD. He/she is expected to promote transparency of the NSDP | MoLSAMD through information sharing:
The Public Relation officer will working with close cooperation of Directorate of Public Relations and Communication of MoLSAMD and S/He will working under the day to day supervision of Media and Communication Officer and under the overall responsibility of Program Executive Director.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The duration of the assignment will be 3 months and will involve the following activities:
a. Providing assistance in public information services with Media and communication department of NSDP and Directorate of Public Relations and Communication of MoLSAMD.
b. Provides effective responses to inquiries for public information materials.
c. Drafts innovative and creative solutions to sensitive or strategic public communications issues.
d. Advocates and promotes the NSDP | MoLSAMD mandate, mission and purpose.
e. Provide contribution in drafting press releases to notify local and regional news outlets of key events.
f. Darting statements and talking points for NSDP | MoLSAMD staff when they engage with the press.
g. Identifies and develops storylines for publications, press releases, and articles contributing to debates on key development issues.
h. Coordinates and manages all NSDP | MoLSAMD publication activities, including content management, norms for publishing, design, liaison with printers and other suppliers to oversee production and supervision of publications dissemination.
i. Promotion of NSDP | MoLSAMD’s contributions to national development.
j. Creates and promotes campaigns to local and regional media that the position of the NSDP | MoLSAMD strategically and influences the development agenda.
k. promotes and maintains public information campaigns on NSDP | MoLSAMD activities
l. Perform other job related tasks assigned time to time by respective supervisors.
a. University degree With Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience in the government and National/ international (NGOs) and donor funded agencies in a position directly related public relations and communications
b. Effective communication and interpersonal skills including (i) a full working knowledge of English (ii) fluency in one national language and good reading, writing, listening and speaking skill in the other and (iii), the ability to interact and coordinate with NSDP staff, contractors, Government officials, consultants and the World Bank staff
