1. Job Purpose
• Communication officer's primary role is to maintain a solid reputation for a client company. Communication officer is responsible for coordinating the promotion of various products and services offered by a company and for promoting the company's image in the public eye. Communications officer will strive to understand and offer support to a company's needs and influence public opinion when necessary.
• Works independently with minimal supervision. Supports large user group with complex requirements.
• Works on problems of moderate/complex scope.
• Formulates conclusions and provides summary analysis for management.
• Monitors trends and elevates issues due to data variances.
• To identify and resolve any issues that arise within Communication processes in a timely manner
• To formally record requirements so that they are understood and agreed by all necessary parties, including user groups and the top management team
• Is responsible for relaying key corporate messages to specifically targeted audiences. By doing so, he/she will create and sustain understanding between company and the general public. Communication officer also conduct research to identify the priorities and expectations of a company's shareholders. This information will then be collated and presented to the client company by the communication officer, who can explain what the findings suggest and initiate strategies to address any anomalies perceived by the shareholders.
• Communication officers liaise with organizations and individuals. Communication officers require excellent communication skills as they need to liaise with a range of employees from varying corporate levels and also display empathy and understanding to any media inquiries. Communication officer also supervises the manufacturing of mail drops, company publicity magazines and various promotional videos designed to obtain further business for an organization. A crucial facet of the communications role is to establish good relations with the local community of a company's operations to sustain their reputation. This may include searching for sponsorship opportunities for local charities or voluntary organizations or making publicly rendered donations to show support for such causes. A communication officer also commissions market research to identify changing trends and make recommendations on how a company should adapt its corporate strategy.

4. Principal Accountabilities
• To facilitate meetings with all clients
• Promotes CASTLE's work and policies among print and electronic media nationally and internationally to ensure CASTLE’s visibility.
• Offers advice on media outreach at the national level and helps strengthen the connection with local, national and international media.
• Develops media advisories, press releases and promotional/ communication material.
• Liaises and networks with national and international media in the country.
• Arranges the translation of CASTLE’s publicity material, discussion papers and reports.
• Designs and develops presentations regarding CASTLE’s program activities.
• Serves as CASTLE’s public relations officer in Afghanistan.
• Reads and reviews CASTLE materials, selects relevant materials for translation and publication in consultation with program staff.
• Develops communication/advocacy materials including brochures, pamphlets, and publications.
• Arranges media participation to cover CASTLE Afghanistan’s events and activities.
• Helps in the organization of CASTLE's events.
• Writes and edits web-based information materials and provides content and materials for CASTLE’s website update.
• Ensures that the information posted on CASTLE’s website is user friendly, appropriate, effective and visible.
• Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly, periodic and annual media reports and keeps media logs for all events.
• Contributes to all areas of CASTLE’s program.
• Communication officers deal with an array of activities during a normal working day, including answering queries from the media, stakeholders or other organizations relating to business practices. They also spend time editing in-house company magazines, preparing speeches for senior executives and collating material to produce annual reports. Communication officers also organize key promotional events such as exhibitions and press conferences to display products and services to potential investors to enhance their client's reputation
• Will guarantee that Communicating activities ensures Agency compliance, transparency and maximum accountability to donors and other stakeholders, and tracking lessons learnt to improve future practice;
• Will draft the daily, weekly, monthly and other periodical reports that are required from management, in addition to editing documents;
• Performing other duties as may be required by the Project Manager
• The Communication officer will work directly under the supervision of Head of Business Planning Department; He/she shall contribute to the process of collecting all information from various factors. Preserving them and using them for the management information system and for other decision making processes
• Ensure that weekly and monthly plans are made in a participatory manner and followed up effectively.
• Manage organization operations by coordinating activities consistent with goals, objectives and policies. Follow direction set by PM.
• The posting is Kabul based however must be willing to make periodic field visits to instruct and monitor project staff and activities.
• Maintain the Head Office filing system including recording of all incoming/outgoing correspondence.
• Develop and maintain project plan and timelines related to outsource initiative
• Manage day to day activities of reporting team resources within
• Work closely with management and resources to assure successful transition of reporting and analytics
• Work with team members to drive efficiencies within current report processes and design
• Inform clients and the public about the organization
• Develop and manage advertising and communication programmes and campaigns
• Write and edit newsletters, websites, leaflets, annual reports, articles and press releases
• Keep staff and clients up to date with organisational news
• Research public attitudes and opinions by doing market research.

• Send /Receive /Report to CEO/GM incoming /outgoing for CASTLE company

General

Qualifications
• Master or University degree relevant to the position.
• Overall 3-15 years’ experience.
• Technical and Designing skills.
Languages
• Dari, Pashto and English

The Employee may have to manage a number of projects at one time, and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of residents, clients and contractors. The
Finance Officer may find the environment to be busy, noisy and will need excellent organizational and time and stress management skills to complete the required tasks.

Sensory demands include use of the computer, which may cause eyestrain and occasional headaches. The office may be noisy and busy making it difficult for the Employee to concentrate.

Significant stress is caused by the need to discontinue services to residents when necessary. The Employee will have to manage a number of requests and situations at one time. Stress may be caused by the need to complete tasks within tight deadlines.
