Job Summary:

The position holder is responsible to support Procurement manager through purchasing construction or office related items and strategizing to find cost-effective deals and suppliers. In addition, discover the best ways to cut procurement expenses.

Skills Description:

  • Basic Knowledge of procurement systems and procedures;
  • Able to work with minimum level of supervision;
  • Good command on English and one of the national language;
  • Good listing, report writing and presentation skills;
  • Good negotiation and networking skills;
  • In-depth knowledge of Afghanistan procurement law or NPA standards; and
  • Hands on advance office automation;

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with finance, procurement and stock department about purchasing related matters;
  • Properly negotiate with vendors to make cost-effective deals about purchasing products and/ or services;
  • Regularly compare product deliveries with approved purchased orders;
  • Share procurement progress report with procurement manager on daily, weekly, monthly and/ or as needed;
  • Supervise the inspection of all supplies, equipment or services to ensure conformance with specification as mentioned in the purchase order or request;
  • Keep informed of current development in the field of purchasing, prices and market condition;
  • Build and maintain updated record of purchased products, delivery information and invoices;
  • Coordinate with transport team to ensure timely delivery of product from Kabul to Project office and vice versa;
  • Draft good delivery notes and good receiving note to ensure that products are properly received and tracked;
  • Provide payment to vendors and transport on transparent manner without any error and omissions;
  • Draft memo request and official letter as required; and
  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor and/ or leadership.

Job Location:

Afghanistan, Kabul

Qualifications:

  • Have a bachelor Degree in Supply chain, Logistics, Economics, Businesses Administration, Public Administration and/ or Procurement from well-reputed and recognized national and/ or international institution;
  • Minimum 2 years work experiences in the field of Procurement or Purchasing with national and international NGOs and/or government; and
  • Procurement experience in the field of Heavy machinery spare-parts will be preferable.
