Job Summary:
A Quality Assurance engineer is involved in inspection, testing and monitoring of the construction of all the exterior/interior mechanical, civil and electrical buildings and controlling the requirements of the contract and design. On-site surveillance of the contractor's proposed quality control system; and review of technical documents, test plans and reports and submissions for completeness, technical adequacy, and compliance with construction contract requirements and applicable regulations.
He/she reports directly to Quality Management director. His/her role is to ensure the safe, timely and well-resourced completion of projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead all safety-related activities, including regular review of construction safety plans and activity hazard analysis for adequacy and safety inspections of on-site operations; and draft daily and monthly reports.
Control Scheduled material and equipment purchases and delivery
Attending public meetings and displays to discuss projects
Assist in the preparation of change orders/modifications to construction contracts
defining the requirements of the modification
provide support in the preparation independent cost estimate
Assist with technical analysis,
Provide recommendations for resolving discrepancies between the independent cost estimate and the contractor's proposal.
Ensure all issues are appropriately logged in the project tracking system.
Job Requirement:
University degree or equivalent in engineering, construction management, facilities management, or other relevant engineering disciplines.
5 years of responsible professional experience.
Ability to read, interpret and adhere to tight schedules in order to keep contractors on time and under budget
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
Knowledge: Must have knowledge of design and construction practices and civil engineering international and local codes and specifications. Knowledge of structural design calculations and criteria.
Certifications or licenses are preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must.
AutoCAD and other engineering software.
