Job Summary

Quality Control Manager cum Construction Manager)

AutoCAD expert, Primavera scheduling, submittal preparation, daily reporting, weekly and monthly reporting, working look ahead

Duties & Responsibilities

As CUM Construction Manager:

-Establish safety procedures and monitor the same for compliance to company requirements.

-Create Quality propaganda and deliver them to construction sites regularly.

-Conduct regular safety meetings at site, involving all contractor personnel and Owner’s project team.

-Through established mechanism collect quality data from sites and add them to Company database.

-Ensure certification for all construction tools & plant, machinery, equipment, lifting gear etc. are current and valid.

-Ensure that all construction work is executed in full compliance to company Life critical standards.

-Prepare construction management plan for project

-Own and manage detailed construction schedule at construction site. 

-Certify work done at project site by contractors/labors and support project team in validating the Field Change Orders (FCO).

-Liaison with QA/QC department and ensure that construction delivers quality workmanship in line with company requirement.

-Support project team in preparing the authorization cost estimate by providing cons. Management input.

- Support project team in answering field queries to prime Contractor and implementing changes.

-Has basic understanding of entire project life and have worked closely with engineering in executing capital projects.

As Quality Control Manager:

Minimum of 5-10 years’ construction experience on construction quality control

·      Have a thorough and complete knowledge and understanding of the contract, each subcontract and the plans and specifications in order to assist the Project Manager in development of the onsite procedures

·      Create, update and maintain the project submittal log and all other project specific quality control reports

·      Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications by direct review and by leveraging the knowledge and experience of others in the project team when necessary

·      Chair and document weekly QC meetings with the Prime Contractor and provide written minutes as described in project specific contract documents

·      Provide daily QC reports that reinforce activities that are being constructed in conformance with each specific project's established standard and constructively confronts non-conformances to produce the desired outcome in a timely manner

·      Conduct preparatory, initial and follow-up meetings to establish an understanding of the standards of care desired for each definable feature of work

·      Verify and document that all materials received for the project are in conformance with the approved submittal, are handled and stored appropriately and are acceptable for use in the project

· Coordinate and document the testing and commissioning of building systems

·      Perform quality control testing and inspection in adherence with contract requirements and company best practices with close coordination with Prime Contractor.

Bachelor's Degree in in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field

• A minimum of five (7) years of professional experience in the management of multi-disciplined projects in architecture, engineering and construction fields
• Experience in Construction Project Management

Additional Requirements:

• Strong written and verbal communications skills English, Pashto and Dari Languages
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to coordinate efforts with consultants, contractors, and internal resources to ensure the project runs smoothly from inception through end of construction
• Ability to demonstrate experience in the administration of finances as associated with project management, i.e. cost estimation and budgeting
• Ability to read and comprehend construction plans, estimates, surveys, and specifications
• Ability to lead negotiations with consultants, contractors, other agencies, and stakeholders to procure resources and formalize cooperative relationships that achieve project goals
• Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to exercise flexibility in accommodating shifting priorities, demands, and schedules
• Ability to deal tactfully with a diverse group of people in a professional manner in a complex organization
• Ability to drive a county or personal vehicle to various job sites as needed to accomplish tasks
• Strong Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills

NOTE: To qualify for this position, required experience, education and skills must be clearly stated on your application's employment history. Resumes are welcome but the interview shall be conducted on daily bases for qualified candidates. Working with US Army Corps of Engineers projects shall be highly desirable.
