Job Summary:

The proposed Road is located in the South East side of Badakhshan Province with almost 108km. The alignment of the access road passes through Baharak, Wardooj, Zebaak and Connect to Eshakashem district. The area is hilly, not flat or level. There is need for more cases of land donation in this project because it has surrounded by river mountainous terrain and green land. The designed width of road is about 11m. The road needs cutting, filling, Sub- base course, base course, Asphalt carriageway and Double Bituminous Surface Treatment (DBST) with side drain and construction of structures (Culverts, Retaining and breast walls (Stone masonry and RCC), Washes, Bridges (RCC, PSC) along the road alignment.


·      The Role (Quantity Surveyor/Quantity Surveying Engineer)

Project Quantity Surveying Engineer or Quantity Surveyor (QS) is a project based critical and responsible position that complements the project technical team in the measurement of works actually completed on project site in comparison with the works determined in the project legal documents. The role is responsible for identifying and tracking the difference between actual and identified works, tracking the difference in quantities between identified and actually required works, keeping record of work performance on the project, developing tracking invoices based on the completed work quantities, and identifying, reporting, communicating, and officially processing the variations (increment, reduction or change) in the actual works in comparison with the identified works in the contract documents. The position is responsible for claims in connection with the completed, identified and newly discovered works.

The position is a project site level independent managerial position under the immediate leadership of project manager and will report to and be managed by the QS Manager stationed in the headquarter office of company.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Including but not limited to the following general outline:

ü The detail understanding of project’s identified works’ quantities in relation with the actual works’ quantifies on the project site.

ü The before and after work topographic surveying, and drawing development for work quantity measurement and progress monitoring purposes.

ü The day to day measurement of work progress using the surveying tools at site, office work of as-built drawing development, quantity calculation of various works, record keeping, progress communication with client’s project team, and daily progress reporting.

ü The daily, weekly, and monthly work progress tracking, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and invoice (claims & IPC) development and record keeping.

ü The look-ahead planning or the estimate to complete oversight of the remaining works.

ü Monitoring and identifying the occurring changes and needed changes in the quantity or specifications of the identified works and communicating and cording such changes with the project stakeholders.

ü Keeping a track record of the approved documents in connection with the project works, project work changes, project claims, and project work-budget relations.

Qualifications:

The following qualifications are required to be possessed for the referenced position and are not subject to be compromised, therefore, only the matches for below criteria are encouraged to apply.

ü Should have Bachelor Degree of Civil Engineering/Quantity Surveying or Advanced Topographic Surveying, master degree is preferable.

ü Should have 5 Year of Experience as Quantity surveyor in the road and highway projects.

ü Should have extensive experience of using surveying tools including Total-Station and Level Machines.

ü Should have extensive experience of quantity measurement documentation, profiling and as-built drawings.

ü Should have extensive experience in the topographic surveying of earthworks including cutting, filling, embankment, and pavement works, and in the quantity measurement of highway related vertical structures works including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, .

ü Familiar with contract documents and methods of measurement

ü Fluent in English language & able to read and understand project requirements and technical specifications.

ü Extensively experience in the surveying, drafting and work quantity measurement of works in Irregular shapes, slopes and specifications.

ü Familiar with the quantity surveying and measurement procedure of Pre and Post activity topographic surveying, reference recording & record keeping, profile development, quantity take-off, claim development, claim cross-checking with consultant, and helping IPC development. 

ü Extensively experienced with Ms. Excel as Quantity Surveying tool.

ü Extensively experienced with Auto-CAD, Eagle point or Civil-3D software for topographic map, area profile, as-built, and site improvement drawings development and quantity take-off.

ü Extensively experienced in the Claims and Invoice Development for earthworks and road projects.
