About Mine Action Coordination Center of Afghanistan

Job Summary

The Radio Operator under the direct supervision of the Area Manager is responsible for the following assigned tasks.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Carries out all radio operations activities for the Area Mine Action Centre (AMAC)
• Operates all types of communications equipments including local land and phone lines
• Monitors and operates HF and VHF radio channels
• Maintains records of Sat phone and fax use
• Transmits and receives messages for all personnel working in the de-mining programme
• Logs and transmits and receive messages for all Mine Action Programme activities
• Record all necessary messages such as mine and security incidents and accident reports
• Monitors movement of MACCA/AMAC or UNOPS personnel on mission when tasked
• Receives and logs all clearance organizations stat and clearance activities on daily basis
• Monitors the daily radio check for all international staff
• Perform any other duties relevant to the field as required

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

• Secondary diploma or equivalent certificate
• 3 years relevant experience in the field
• Experience with the de-mining NGOs is preferable
• Should always have helping attitude
• Ability to work independently and during long hours
• Good command of English Language and fluent in local languages (Pashto and Dari)
