Job Summary

To obtain radiography films of various positions of the patient as requested by referring physicians , ensuring safety procedures for themselves, patients and equipment, and performing related duties as advised by supervisor

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Keeping X-Ray equipment at proper distance and angle from the patient to obtain clear and undisturbed view
2. Proper film and cassette handling (type, analogue & digital) as per standard procedure
3. Perform especial X-Ray procedures / CT / MRI / Mammography procedure as requested by referring clinicians, also observing safety of procedures
4. Properly log performed procedures
5. Determine proper voltage, current and desired exposure time for each Radiograph
6. Adjust contrast of the films in computer to make it read for print and check quality as required
7. Repeat exposure procedure from different angles as requested by the physician
8. Schedule patients for X-Ray procedures if required
9. Maintain equipment by cleaning, making minor adjustments and report to supervisor in case of any fault or breakdown
10. Assist in training of new Technicians
11. Perform portable X-Rays of in patients unable to come to radiology department, as assigned
12. Perform duties in shifts
13. Any other task assigned by supervisor
14. Change the radiation dose monitoring device on monthly basis or as advised by radiation protection committee

Job Requirements

Graduated from 12th Class is preferred

Diploma of the Radiologic Technology Course from a recognized institute (3years)

1-2 years related work experience

Good communication and interpersonal skills in English, Dari and Pashto.

Knowledge of judging film quality, patient positioning, film developing, supplies handling and general record keeping

Good working knowledge of technical X-Ray and operation of the related equipment
