Identify, promote, and coordinate the partnership of investment by business entrepreneurs in seven farm service centers which are established in the targeted Afghanistan provinces. Identify and pursue beneficial linkages to the farm store development. Assist in developing and implementing all activities related to the farm store development, aimed at long term self-sustaining viability. Assist with coordination and development of FSC value-added activities, such as extension training, addressing FSC issues which are collected from customers, new business development, output marketing, and marketing and advertising. Establish linkages between agricultural input suppliers and the farm stores. Coordinate with other Regional Programs Managers to develop an effective approach to meeting project objectives. Provide data as needed by the AFSA project management for collection and reporting
Duties & Responsibilities:
â€¢ In consultation with the Senior Programs Manager, prepare a work plan for proceeding with FSC development.
â€¢ Assist in identifying Afghan business entrepreneurs interested in investing in the Afghan agricultural distribution sector.
â€¢ Participate in the development of a business plan for each FSC to which the manager is assigned, including modification when necessary.
â€¢ Collect and report FSC matching contributions to the AFSA project office, in support of the projectâ€™s reporting to CNFA HQ.
â€¢ Assist with market studies as required.
â€¢ Provide business and technical advice, and support to the Afghan agricultural business community which supports AFSA initiatives.
â€¢ Supervise and monitor service delivery provided by FSCs to the farmers/customers.
â€¢ Other duties as assigned.
â€¢ 5+ years experience in organizational capacity building
â€¢ 5+ years experience related to marketing and business development
â€¢ Strong understanding of Afghan agriculture and input supply
â€¢ Strong command of English language
â€¢ USAID experience preferred
