The Regional Manager will help to guide and coordinate program activities to each region and help ensure adequate stakeholder consultations, outreach to the community, partners, and beneficiaries. S/he will oversee a regional team to ensure quality control and will help coordinate and oversee building the capacity of local stakeholders and program partners.
Requires travel to provinces:
1) Five to seven years of experience in private sector development, technical vocational education and training, and/or economic growth
2) University degree, ideally in business or economics
3) Knowledge of education institutions/TVET service providers and/or private sector businesses, business organizations, and professional service and business development providers in the region
4) Demonstrated support of women in the workplace and in leadership positions, be proactive and excellent communicators
5) Familiar with promising growth sectors in the region
6) Prior experience on a donor program
7) Proven interpersonal, supervisory, and management skills
The position reports to the Senior Regional Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities:
OBJECTIVE AND DUTIES:
Undertakes proactive community outreach and relations building, identifies opportunities for advancing the objectives of WIE
Manages regional activity portfolios in order to achieve program target
Collaborates with Kabul based Component Teams on the design/implementation of activities in regions
Liaises with regional stakeholders, including local businesses and business organizations to ensure stakeholder consultations and tailored support for local businesses
Liases with academic and vocational institutes and other types of service agencies to enroll female university and high school students and graduates to coordinate effective career development and job services
Within target market, women-owned businesses or businesses with women as 10% or more of staff, identify businesses with potential for growth. Enroll in appropriate WIE activity.
Ensures adherence to program administrative procedures and guidelines, exercises quality control of service delivery, and provides technical support to case officers at regional level
Continuously assesses program progress, identifies implementation issues, and improves program activities, including providing feedback to and sourcing support from the Kabul main office.
Maintain good cooperative relation with the national and provincial authorities, USAID relevant agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders as needed.
Able to travel for project tasks to Kabul and other provinces.
Any other task assigned by the line manager.
