Job Summary

The CRIDA is now looking for a Research Specialist to be a key member for development of Economic and Recreational zones.

Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting Line:

Research Specialist will report to Director of Economic Zone Development Program (EZP).


Duties/Responsibilities:

Assist Director to prepare or support the “Strategic Development Plan” and establish annual targets for EZP.

Review of literature and studying the existing programs’ concepts

Develop and assist manager’s and Director in designing feasibility studies, preparing feasibility reports, and implementation plan of Economic and Recreational Zones.

Working with Project Directors to oversee the fieldwork initiative.

Able to analyze qualitative data and do advocacy for the research findings to streamline the research findings in the priority programs for the economic zone development.

Support and promote utilization of research findings to give direction to policy, planning, and program development within CRIDA related to Economic and Recreational zones.

Assist the Director to establish, maintain and facilitate strategic dialogue between government officials, both at central and provincial level, program stakeholders, donors and other partners to ensure better coordination and identify areas of cooperation and coordination.

Participate and contribute in the technical working groups, coordination meetings and other entities of CRIDA, for technical assistance and information

Perform and review research work in related field, struggle for innovative ideas and find adaptable global experience

Assist in preparation of methods, manuals, tools, guidelines, standards and processes for the development of economic zone in order to guide and promote sustainable concepts

Assess project impact and oversee the appropriateness and accuracy of methods used for economic zone development

Immediately escalate issues with potential to impact Economic zones and CRIDA’s effectiveness, inform senior management, so that appropriate action is taken to immediately address problems and challenges.

Identify resources mobilization opportunities in close collaboration with the Director.

Selecting the most appropriate research methodology and techniques, be able to design studies to identify vulnerabilities and livelihood resources of the people to enhance the economic activities so as to enhance income regeneration

Assist in prepare Terms of References for the planned projects of economic and Recreational Zones.

Preparation of comprehensive technical and meeting reports

Performs other duties as assigned by Director

Job Requirements


Bachelor degree in Management, Arts, Agriculture, Rural development or other related field is required. Diploma, Master degree or higher education in the rural development, strategy or research will be highly preferred. .

Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of research, planning and rural

Excellent skills of writing and speaking in English Language.

Excellent skills of writing and speaking of National Languages.

Ability of having research capability and innovative ideas.

Ability to conduct economic and environmental justification of the land development

Having skill of team player and transferring knowledge are essential.

The person must be able to work with constant supervision

Good communication skills are essential to ensure cohesion with other members of the CRIDA technical team

Ability to meet deadlines, ability to allocate and review priorities

Must have strong analytical skills of research, planning and rural development.

Ability to use computer soft wares such as MS office package, Auto CAD and other relevant soft wares

Ability to meet the dead lines
