Combining ‎social research with security policy development; providing continuous ‎opportunities to take part in the security and socio-economic development ‎of Afghanistan. The Researcher/Analyst will conduct research, draft ‎national policy papers, and engage in the capacity development of junior ‎staff.
‎•‎ Coordinating meetings of different ministries and ‎independent government offices;‎
‎•‎ Participate in inter-agency working groups as related to ‎national security issues;‎
‎•‎ Define and analyze security related proposals and ‎develop strategic documents for senior stakeholders; and,‎
‎•‎ Analyze emergent issues, for which there are no ‎established national polices, and make recommendations ‎to the National Security Council for policy development.‎
‎•‎ The successful candidate will have 5- 8 years of government ‎experience and a relevant graduate level degree. Candidates ‎with 8 - 10 years of experience and a relevant undergraduate ‎degree will be considered;‎
‎•‎ Candidates need a strong background in research and policy ‎development;‎
‎•‎ Candidates must be fluent in both spoken and written Dari and ‎Pashtu;‎
‎•‎ Working knowledge of English;‎
‎•‎ An extensive knowledge of Afghan society, culture, and ‎government is essential;‎
‎•‎ Strong presentation skills; and,‎
‎•‎ Strong interpersonal skills
