Job Summary

Specific Responsibilities:
• The consultant will be a member of the Unit for Improving Quality in Health Care and will be providing necessary support to the RH Department of the MoPH.
• Contribute to the revision of RH department's documents and advise on interventions improving quality of health care
• Conduct training need assessment (related to Quality) for MoPH central and provincial RH officers
• Facilitate training programs on quality interventions for RH Department staff at national and provincial levels.
• Participate in RH relevant forums organized by the MoPH and Partners and provide technical support on interventions required to improve quality of Maternal and New born health programs
• Assist the IQHC (Improving Quality in Health Care) Unit Coordinator in developing and help coordinate its implementation of the strategy for improving quality in health care.
• Provide required support for the organization of RH task force meetings and high level RH meetings.
• Provide regular reports on work plan progress to RH Directorate and IQHC Unit.
• Perform other duties as assigned by his/her supervisor
• Monitor quality related activities in Maternity hospitals

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
ï‚§ Graduate from recognized medical University
ï‚§ Post graduate degree in Public Health or MCH or equivalent experience is highly desired
ï‚§ At least 3 years experience of working at the national level with International organizations ( NGO , UN ) or MOPH
ï‚§ Well familiar with Primary, Secondary and Tertiary health care services.
ï‚§ Demonstrated proficiency in organizing and conducting training on quality improvement, or the ability and willingness to rapidly increase skills.
ï‚§ Spoken and written competence in Pashto, Dari and English
ï‚§ Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
ï‚§ Good computer skills, including competence in Ms Office and internet/e-mail
ï‚§ Ability and willingness to travel to provincial capitals and rural areas of Afghanistan
