The project manager will be responsible for all aspects of the gravel / asphalt road project effective implementation, management, procurement, coordination with monitoring team and technical team of employer and other stakeholders. He shall ensure project smoothly implementation according the work plan and within the project duration. The project manager will also be responsible to track the financial payments with Employer financial Team.
The Project manager will report to the Vice President – Technical of the firm.
The Project manager must be an experienced and qualified engineer with the ability to work alone, meet deadlines, train related staff, and work individually and as apart of greater team efforts.
Provinces to travel:
§ Familiar with project management and Project implementation techniques.
§ Knowledge of MS Office and other required systems.
§ Ability to work effectively with minimal direction.
§ Must be good problem solver, analytical, creative, and innovative
§ Strong communication skills in English along Pashto and Dari (oral and written).
§ Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment.
§ Must be able to communicate online.
§ Team oriented.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The project manager will be responsible for the following tasks, which include but are not limited to the followings:
1. Project Implementation:
§ Effective project implementation according to the work plans, and based on Employer technical specification, drawings and requirements.
§ Preparation of daily and weekly action plans to ensure that all works going on according to project approved work plans.
§ Implementation of the project in best project Management manner in terms of high quality, low cost and within stipulated period.
§ Supervision of the project technical and administrative team in terms to achieve high working performance.
§ Fulfil all EMPLOYER requirements, formats and regulation in project implementation.
§ Support the monitoring and evaluation of the project.
§ Preparing and estimation of the road structures BoQ.
§ Provide overall leadership, management, and technical guidance to ensure the achievement of project objectives and performance indicators; the quality and timeliness of the project work; effective management, effective human resources allocation; and accurate project reporting.
§ Need to evaluate and control the CAD drawings of the structures (Culverts, retaining walls, Washes, RCC drains etc.).
§ Must able to make site visits of the entire road and structures of the projects faced problems in the construction stage and solve technical problems on the site.
§ Continuously follow up the on-going projects and coordinate with the Projects Implementation Management unit of the EPCC.
§ Monitor the implementation of the works by conducting site visits and providing guidance for improvement and good results.
§ Review QA/QC site visit and materials testing reports to ensure sampling, testing and inspection of materials are carried out regularly and works are implemented in compliance with design specifications.
§ Ensure that proper filing system exists in project office and all project related documents are filed on time.
§ Ensure that proper QA/QC filing system exists in project.
§ Well manage project closure.
2. Project Procurement:
§ Responsible to develop a comprehensive procurement plan to ensure the timely supply of project materials and equipments.
§ Provide timely construction materials request forms to Procurement Department as stated in the Procurement Policy.
§ Check and control the procurement of project materials.
3. Coordination & Reporting:
§ Develop and track good relations and cooperation with EMPLOYER monitoring team as well as Consultant technical team
§ Prepare all required reports to the EPCC main office as well as to Employer, as required based on contracts.
§ Ensure that the payment process of project going on based on contract.
§ Attend project management and progress review meetings.
4. Project Management & Office Operation:
§ To oversee the day-to-day office staff operation.
§ To control and maintain project expanses and utilization of the materials
§ Carries out other duties that are consistent with overall focus of the assignment as assigned by the Organisation Director, Deputy Director-Technical, or their designees. Monitoring and Progress Controls:

§ Weekly reporting on the progress of work to the Consultant if any and EPCC line manager.
§ Ad-hoc and regular communication with the Design Manager/ Engineer, Construction Manager, technical coordinator, consultant main office regarding work plan and activities.
Timely and accurate submission of final technical, social and financial report for project sites.

§ University degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent in related field.
